I have a controlled movement back down. Its not super slow or anything, but its controlled. This hits the glutes and hammies pretty good. I figure since I'm doing the lift, might as well get everything out of it.

Deadlifts will increase trap size, after all the trapezius muscle is apart of the BACK so why they are often trained on a shoulder day is beyond me.

I agree with Boyd's argument on Mighty's world about how "2" of movement" not being able to overload a muscle. I personally stick to deadlifts (when I an able to do them) and face pulls which I have recently introduced and I've found they hit my upper back very well.

Most people do Shoulders and Traps together because when training traps you use your shoulders a lot. The Chest isn't part of the Tricep area but a lot of people train them together for the same reason. Same can be said about back and biceps too.
