Question Bulking and cardio?

Just wondering how much i should cut down on cardio while bulking... my current weight is 150 pds and I go on 5km runs about twice a week, play hockey every saturday...If im bulking should i minimize it to one run or am i fine the way it is? I probably havent given enough information for you to really tell me but my calorie intake is about 3000 a day if that helps

You definitely need more calories. I don't think I would change any of the cardio, just try and get those calories over the 4000 mark. If you are only taking in 3000 a day.. that's nothing for the amount of activity you are doing.

If you are trying to bulk, I would cut out the running. Dont worry about the calories right now. Thats a good starting amount for a person of your weight who is trying to bulk.

As I have said before, I never recommend running for cardio when you are a bodybuilder, it burns too many calories.

You can still do some cardio but cut it down. Do some lower/moderate intensity instead or opt for the popular HIIT cardio.

Again, if you cut out the running, and keep your calories at that level, eating good food every 2-3 hours, you should see the gains coming in. If after a few weeks you arent gaining like you want, add an additional 500 calories.

Right now, your biggest enemy in you gaining is your running, not your calories.

Agreed. Long distance running can be very catabolic. Better off doing 20 mins on the elliptical 3x week.
