Default Ouch - the most embarrassing thing I did in the gym

So I had just completed my 3 flat barbell benchpress sets. I was unloading the weights on one side. I wasn't really paying attention. I was taking all the weights off the one side of the bar, without realising that there were still weights on the other side. When I unloaded the last 45, the bar lost its balance on the bench, so the one end of it (the side I was on), went up and smacked me under the chin. My partner started to laugh at me, and everyone around looked like they were trying to hold back a laugh. I had to get an ice pack - I was out for the day.

Make me feel better by telling me your most embarrassing thing you did in the Gym.

haha..

I haven't had the honor of that myself... but my brother did something similar...

I just finished my last set of squats... I was winded and stumbling away to get a drink and gather my senses... and my brother not thinking just began to take off all the weight on his side. At the time about 2 45's and a 25. well as soon as he tugged that last 45 off.. (might of been the first 45? but I doubt it)... the bar came right up fast, dumping off the rest of the weight, and making a huge freaking commotion... not to mention almost killing someone who was nearby when the bar came flying by.. lol

He turned bright shades of red.. and I was just happy I was a good 25 feet away.. lol

similar situation once, and only once. but i was at home, so it was ok lol. anyhow, i was finishing my bench set and taking the weights off like 2 years ago, just listenin to music and not paying attention. well, the bar had just started to pop up and i spazzed and slammed it back down and quickly grabbed a weight to put on and took some off the other side lol. so, you obviously arent the only one to do that, and not the last im sure haha.

Here's my list...

-Got stuck at the bottom of a bench press movement w/out a spotter (Not Cool & Very Dangerous)

-Got stuck half way up on a front squat (not as bad just had to throw the weight forward onto the squat rack) Caused quite a scene though

-Had a cable snap while doing heavy pressdowns, my arms were in full extension when it snaped (not my fault, but still kinda embarrasing)

-I was going at the heavy bag at my old gym and the thing fell right out of the ceiling (not my fault again but heh)

-I'm pretty sure a let one out while doing heavy deads (couldn't tell if it was loud b/c I listen to music while lifting)

I don't consider it a really good workout unless a few sneak out....

I've done the same with taking some off one side but a friend has done far worse ...

We loaded up his weight for benchpress but loaded 1 extra 45lb plate on one side an not on the other lifted the weight his arms stayed straight and he just fell to one side.

He also claims to have followed through while doing squats at the gym on a busy day, but I wasn't there to witness that one ... not really something i'd want to brag about

HAS NOBODY DONE WHAT IVE DONE?

Ok only done it once. I finished my set of squats and i was taking the weights off. All the plates were off except for 1 last 45 plate. I was talking to someone and i started to pull it off. I THOUGHT the plate was off the bar, so i started to pull the plate away. Little did i know it was still attatched to the bar, and it pulled the bar off the hooks, CRASHING against the rails. SO LOUD.

bah, most of these happened to me too, and more

had the bar fall of loudly because i removed too much on one side

got stuck without a spot doing bench pess, had to yell at someone, same thing while doing military (had some weights fall down on one side).

busted my shorts wide open on the lower portion of doing squats, while a hot girl was walking behind me.

was doing hack squats on a machine with the rubber on my shoes being wet, slipped down with all that weight but luckily there was a stopper so i didn't get crushed

farts (that says it all)

just two days ago i realised i had been training for about 10 mins with a bounce sheet stuck on my shirt.

there's many more but i can only think of them right now. after a while you just don't care

I got stuck under a barbell on one side doing benchpress and the gym instructor had to come bail me out. Not cool. I was there for at least a minute.

i was messing around spotting on the bench and i stood on bench pretending to curl it. which ended up in me falling onto the side of my foot and ended up no being able to walk normally for a while cause i sprained it.

i put 7 45 plates on each side o the leg press and right when i tried to do it. it came down on me hell fast and pushed me out of my chair.

dam myself

Okay just to get it out...

After my leg workouts I'm usually weak as hell and toward the end of the last giant set Monday, I got off the leg-extension machine and fell flat on my ass. FK. This skinny blk dude was like "you need some help" I started laughing and said nah I'm cool...still on the floor. Not only that but I couldn't get up for like five minutes. I was just sitting there.... with my legs twitching, looking for that blk dude to help me up but he left already. Thank god it was early and no one was really there to laugh at me. I limped all the way to my car like a.... cowboy....baybee ! ! That sht was soo embarrassing.

Ha, I had to help some guy a few weeks ago because he was doing decline and got stuck. I was walking to get a drink and I hear "Hey dude.. dude!" I look over and he is straining to keep the bar from completely pinning him :P

Nah, I have definitely let one loose right at the bottom of the rep on the leg press. It's kind of funny to see this guy, full strain with like 800lbs on the machine, and at the bottom just hear this "Brwaaaaaap".

I feel like trying to salvage dignity by saying something like "Farting at the bottom of the rep will get you HUGE" but there really isn't anything you can do :P

lol that is pretty funny, ya just gotta see the comedy side to it

mine was just stupid, i tried squatting for the first time an i was going fine with some decent weights, they werent to depth but i didnt want to go too low as i had no spotter an no cage - i got 484lbs for a good half rep, an it seemed easy, i went for i think 532 (5 20's an a 10 a side) an i leant forward with the swing of the bar an it dropped, with me under it - i managed to just about get half of it on the rack so it didnt completely kill me, but i have a scar for life on my thumb where the bar landed - not a good idea!

There are two leg presses @ my gym separated by a seated calf raise. They are slighly different as one has an curved foot plate. One day I'm on leg press 1 and there is an older (50-ish) lady on leg press 2. I'm working away, straining like a mofo. I just happen to glance her way, she leans back, brings her legs up and back towards her head and does a spread eagle split then looks me in the eye and winks.

W..T..F?
