Bro, Max-OT is free. You don't have to buy a damn thing. Go to www.ast-ss.com and check it out. You have to sign up. I usually takes a day or so. If you want my password, post here and I'll PM it to you.

Allright. I signed up and have read through the philosophy and week one description. It certainly makes a lot of sense to me. I'm sych'd -- think I'll give it a try. I'm travelling this week and the hotel gym is bare bones, so I'll begin in eight days.
Since I workout alone, I like that the routines don't incorporate negative failure or other things that definitely require a spotter/partner. I'm down with almost all of it, but the 2-3 mins between sets might be the hardest thing to get used to (I usually rest 1 min). I guess you just have to fend off the other dudes who want to get onto the equipment while you're resting between sets. Tips anyone? |

Alright im week 2 Max-OT... gotta slight problem... Ill use today's workout, arms and abs as the example.
Max OT principle #5... rest 2-3 minutes btwn sets. Alright Tuesday: 18 sets for 4 muscle areas... Add 5 warm up/acclimation sets per muscle area and a grand total of 38 sets. say you rest 2 minutes btwn sets thats 76 minutes of rest, havent even added in the time that the actual sets take.... its not quite in line with... Max OT principle #1... Each workout should last approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Im guessing this is just something i should shut up about til i get further along in the course but any explanation of what is going on would be appreciated. |

I've just been using their basic principles in my workouts, for example, chest day (today)
2 sets of flat BB bench press, warm-up 3 sets of 6 flat BB bench press 3 sets of 6 incline BB bench press 3 sets of 6 decline flyes 3 sets of 6 weighted dips this normally takes about 45 minutes, counting the stretching and warm-up. I think the most important part is to go "roid rage"max-intensity on the first set of each exercise, but still maintain perfect form. It's a lot harder than it sounds! |
