Hi, im fairly new to this and i was looking to maximize muscle growth while reducing my overall body fat percentage. I was looking at getting a range of supplements to assist in this and was hoping on getting some advice.
for assisting in maximizing muscle i was looking at PHD formula x a testosterone booster supplement. PHD L-glutamine to restrict muscle loss and maintain strength levels MRM Metabolic whey to increase my protein intake and MRM metaburn xtp to maximise fat burning potential. does this sound ok or is it impossible to gain muscle mass while reducing body fat at the same time. thanks for any help. |

I see you only have one post...hope I am not feeding a troll.
You wanna gain muscle and lose fat? Forget sups for a while. Eat clean, plenty of protein, plenty of water and bust your ass in the gym. You will lose fat and gain muscle. Scout's Honor...really...I promise... Probably not what you anted to hear is it?

im 27, nearly 28. Generally averaging about an hour and a half 3 times a week at the gym with 20 min cardio. I also cycle about 10 minutes to work monday to friday.
My general goal is to just gain a bit of muscle for a better physique, especially the chest and shoulders, and lose enough body fat to allow my abs to show. My average body fat at the mo is about 13.5% and from what i understand you need to get your body fat down to about 8% before your abs really show through. |

My main issue is that every time i try to reduce body fat, i end up losing muscle mass instead. The body fat does reduce but at the expense of muscle as well. I have had some fair results with fat burners in the past hence the reason for wanting to take them again. As for the other supplements, ive taken nothing other than whey protein and was hoping the addition of these new ones would maybe assist a little in increasing my ability to put on some muscle.

Spacehog_kuba,
There is a saying, "Abs are made in the kitchen". Try to keep your food intake in the 50% protein from LEAN sources, chicken, fish and so on. Beef is great, but only go for the leaner cuts. Learn to love tuna. Your carbs, about 30-35% of your diet should be from green veggies, oatmeal and brown rice. The balance of the diet is fat and should come from the meats and essential oils like flax seed oil, cold water fish or a multi product that has CLA. Understand another thing, if you are going for that "super shredded look", most people can't hold it for more than a week or so. Up your cardio by 10 more minutes a day. Keep your diet good and clean and you will reach your goal. Please do the math, figure out what your basil metabolic rate is and DO NOT drop your calories more that 500 below maintenance. If you go too low on the calories, your body will think you are starving and will slow down your fat loss and start pulling energy from muscle. Also at 27, I really don't think you need a test booster unless you are trying to pack on a bunch of muscle and get huge. At your age you should have enough test coursing through you that you should be running around humping the legs of all the pretty gals in sight. (at least the ones who are not willing to do it the right way )
