Default A Few Questions About Supps

Got some questions...

I found L-Arginine and L-Glutamine at
Code:
bestvite.com
They are both Free Form and are capsules.

L-Arginine 1000mg 240 Caps = 14.89
L-Glutamine 1000mg 240 Caps = 15.99

I've read you don't absorb all of it as free form unless you take it with something to help it absorb, like carbs or grapeseed for example. How true is this??

Am I better off getting powder instead of caps? What is cheaper per gram?

Any recommendations?

There is not a whole lot of difference between powder and pill. I prefer pill just because I can carry them with me during my busy schedule and pop them when needed. Powder is generally a bit cheaper, but not by a whole lot.

Similar to creatine, arginine and glutamine can both benefit from an insulin spike that comes from simple carbs (dextrose) and sugar. A lot of people suggest drinking a sweet juice like apple or grape juice post-workout with your creatine for added absorption.

Thanks for the info Gill.

I know an average dose of Arginine is 2-3 grams 30min. before workout.
But what about Glutamine? Whats a good dose for someone who has never supplemented it before, I've had it in protein shakes but never by its self.

I'm thinking I should bring it to the gym and take it before I leave, so when I get home I can take my protein shake.

Ah, from experience, I've noticed that taking glutamine interfers with arginine.

besides, isn't glutamine worthless anyway?
