Default my supplement collection

This is the majority of my stuff. There have been a few empty whey containers that I have thrown out over the last year or so.

How much of this stuff would I deem necessary? None. How much of it do I think has really helped me? About 10-15% has actually been useful in my mind. If I had it to do all over again. All I would have on that table is some pure Creatine Monohydrate and some Muscle Milk. Heck, I havent used protein powder in about 3 weeks anyway. I haven't used whey in months.

This is just to serve as some advice. Products like No-Xplode and stuff do almost nothing for you. Some extra energy, a temporary boost in gains. Spend your money on some quality food instead. Good luck and hopefully more people don't have to have a sight like this to look at.

In this photo (most of it):
10 lbs whey
2.5 lbs Muscle Milk
2 lbs Egg&Milk protein
2 tubs Nos Blast (No-xplode made by vitamin world)
2 tub creatine mono
1 bottle kre-alk creatine
2 large bottles flaxseed oil (probably best thing on table)

multiple vitamins and minerals and herbs including:
green tea
zinc
vit. c
cranberry extract
amino acids
b vitamins
other crap

then some pharmaceutical grade caffeine

yep.... i know lots of you have similar collections, i am just glad i learned at the age of 21 how big a waste it all is.

sell it to newbs, but its not all a waste, whey is extremely helpful, and the other stuff is cool, lol, as in the fact that it has some cool additives, like green tea for your metabolism and immunity ish, the flaxseed like you said, and creatines all right.

but youre right, and we will hear it over and over and over. REAL FOOD WINS

yep... even something like whey, it definitely helps but is by no means "necessary" it is just a supplement. it is there to supplement a diet lacking in protein. to be a quick source right after a workout. theoretically we could get that from foods and it would be cheaper. anyways, im not upset by any of it, just a bit wiser now.

I don't care how uber your diet is - you still need to take a multi-vitamin. Other than that, I agree with the overall minimality of results you get from the majority of supplements.

Seeing that I always seem to be on a budget, My Cabinet, looks like Mother Hubbards compared to that stash. I have 4 things:

Whey
Multivitamin.
Creatine Mono
BCAA's

I cycle the Creatine because I don't think that, working at a cellular level, the gains are all that noticeable. Use it more when doing heavy lifting cycles. I use the BCAA's to help with recovery and reduce Muscle soreness. Reason I even have them at all is because of what I have read about them here and on other forums. Are these necessary? Nope, but my lifestyle does let me have the luxury of eating 'meals' all the time so supplements fill in a gap. And that is all the should do...

First year med at MUSC. Studied cognitive neuroscience and physiological psychology in undergrad. The body never ceases to amaze me. Something to learn every day. I love it.
