Default Whey & Creatine on rest days?

Today's one of my rest days and drinking my whey and creatine I'm wondering if there's a point? On a rest day, should I give these two supps a rest? If not, why?

1) You need to keep the amount of creatine in your body at a constant level and this entails taking the recommended daily dose every day.

2) Your body needs protein while it's recovering so whey is a good source of protein to go with your meals on your recovery days...

Cheers guys for the straight answers!

So one more question - should the amount of whey on rest days be the same? I mean, I take 20g before a workout then 40g after a workout on lifting days, but do I need the 40g shake on the rest day? Or should I just have the 20g? Or keep the full 60g for the day to bring my daily total up to around 200g? (As it would be on lifting days)

Well the amount of protein you consume at one time all depends on your body. Usually 35g of protein is a good amount. Any more than that and there is a good chance that your body wont absorb all of the protein you consume, thus wasting money and protein. You also want to make sure that you drink plenty of water throughout the day. High protein diets put extra stress on the liver/kidneys so keep well hydrated.

Continue to take creatine on rest days. As for the whey, I rarely take it on rest days unless I just want a quick shot of protein before I wake up. I save the whey for post workout. The protein I get comes from food.
