Default Do I need BCAA's if I'm taking 100% whey + Animal Paks?

I am going to order ON 100% Whey and Animal Pak multivitamins online and I was wondering if I would still need to purchase BCAA's because I know they are found in the protein (not sure if in sufficient amts though)
Also, what are some reliable and cheap sites for purchasing these ? Just PM me because I think its against the rules

Thanks alot

It does depend. I also use ON 100% Whey, and I use Scivation Xtend w/ it. ON does have BCAA's in it, but I've read, and i dont remember where, that when in the protein, BCAA's dont always make it through ur system and ur body doesn't absorb all of them. whereas, when taking a supplement like Xtend, They scientifically format it so it has a maximum absorbtion rate. All protein powders for the most part contain a certain amount of BCAAs, ( i think) due to the fact that they are the building blocks of protein.

Look at the exact types of BCAAs in ON's Whey, and compare them to whats in a quality BCAA powder, and see if you are already getting ur daily max intake.

I take the Xtend in addition, simply because Im not bulking right now, but more maintaining weight and adding whatever additional lbm i can for summer, so I need all I can get not to lose muscle.

I differ on this - when I make my bcaa recommendations, I have people go above and beyond what they get from their protein powders. I already assume they're taking 2-3 servings of liquid protein per day, and most casein and whey supps already have high bcaa content. Actually, the amount of bcaa that whey has is why I firmly believe people gain LBM almost instantly when they start taking it, because often, their overall caloric intake goes down since they are usually replacing bad habit foods with a whey drink.

IMO, if you want optimum results, add them on top of what you're already getting.

I agree with Boyd. BCAA's should be a staple along with your whey. See, a BCAA supplement is free-form where the BCAA's from a whey shake are bound.
This means you will get a faster absorption of them with the supplement. A couple servings of BCAA's before and after your workout are your best friend.

I know they have spared a lot of my muscle tissue and kept my strength up during this competiton prep.

Bump to what Nite and Boyd said, more BCAAs the better.

If you'd mix BCAA's with whey would that defeat the purpose of faster absorption? I picked up ON's BCAA powder to use while it last and then return it within 30 days (GNC) and I have my creatine and dextrose then chase with 40g of whey mixed w/ 10g+ BCAA's.

Having them to replenish what I've burned up is my priority. Absorption rate is very secondary to that for me.

Another bump for ON's Whey and Xtend. BTW, is Xtend by far the best brand around? I hear it mentioned all the time. I love the new lemonade flavor.

I was looking at ON's BCAA Caps that have only 1 gram per serving. Not a lot IMO.

I bought a 5lb bag of BCAA powder from True Protein, not bad but next time I'm going to opt for a premium flavor.

I take my BCAA before, during and after weight training and before and after cardio
