Default Hello all! quick question on Glut VS BCAA's

Hey all, hopefully everybody is enjoying the summer as much as I am!

I'm curious what the general consensus is on taking Glut or BCAA. I did do some searching but did not find exactly what I was looking for. I use ON100% isoalte whey and I Should be getting about 15-20 grams of glut already from that...is that enough? or am I better just getting a BCAA and adding that to my sups list VS buying a standalone glut supplement. I'll take both if it's worth it...but some posts seem to indicate that it is NOT always worth the money on glut and therefore my confusion here.

For now! I am currently buying from GNC, yeah I know...BAD me lol. Do any of you recommend a particular brand of BCAA from there? Anyhow, thanks all!

Take care

John

Well bottom line (although there is more to it than this of course) is Glut is pretty debatable on whether it actually works or not. BCAA's are proven. So just that alone should be enough to stay away from Glut.

I used SciVation Xtend's BCAA's but I don't forsee any problem with GNC Brand. They should have the three amino acids L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine and you can compare dosages or what not between products.

Tried the GNC BCAA 1800 or whatever and also tried Leuikik.

Been using Leukik (non muscletech brand) longer and having good returns from it. Costs more, smell horrid, but gets the results.

On training days I take 3 before workout and 3 after workout. Non training days I just take 3 in the morning.

Dont buy the glutamine, get you some BCAA's. Your training and body will thank you for it.

I stalled at the gym for a couple of weeks where I wasn't acheiving any personal bests at the gym. Took leukik and shortly after I was able to push harder and get more reps. Broke a few more personal bests and muscles are growing. Skin is a lot tighter in the areas I was pushing hard at.

Hrm, quick update...So I bought myself some BCAAs. Got home and then noticed that my protein actually has MORE BCAA present. Actually...but a fairly large margin and although the scoop is bigger(of course...it's got other stuff in it lol) I worked out the cost/grams of BCAA and the protein powder is actually a LOT cheaper in the end.

So, I'm curious...if some of these protein powders have such a high amount of BCAA then why would one not just take 2-3 more scoops of the protein. Hrm, Am I missing something here?

ON 100% isolate whey 10 lbs bag: 180 scoops and 85$
24 grams protein
4 grams glut
2.5 grams Leucine
1.5 grams Iso
1.5 grams Valine
and all the other little stuff.

ON BCAA 5000 powder(looked at three other brands...all same amounts)
Container: 60 scoops 43$
2.5 grams Leuc
1.25 grams Iso
1.25 grams Valine

and nothing else....hrm to me it just looks like the protein is WAY more cost effective. Or is it that you have to take a large amount of the BCAA and taking the ON 100% is just to much protein? GRR lol

Anybody? Thanks!

well if u wanna talk about cost effective....you can get a 10 lb bag of the whey i think for 60 dollars somehwere and u can get the small tub of BCAA's for 22. just giving you a headsup i really hope you haven't paid that much for each yet.

and is that cost online? Is it the same brands of whey? and is it Canadian? I can only buy at GNC at this moment and the cost is really not important to me...I was just making an observation that the whey was more cost effective for the amount of BCAA included

l-glutamine is pretty worthless, except for gut health.

use either
glutamine peptides (german american is OK)
or

links are not permitted.

I use both but more of the BCAAs

If I had to chose between them, I'd chose BCAAs for sure

Definitely! However, you don't need to use as much. 30-40 grams on workout days, 10-20 non workout. I am using 35-40gs work out days and 10 non workout days and am liking it. I love BCAA's...

I too use Xtends BCAA's!

now im confused,,,

it says on the label take 2 scoops which is 11.29 grms, and this is what i take after my work-out, (i dont take them before my workout, i dont think there important for your muscles, only once ther worn out then you need bcaa in your system)
so how do you get to 30-40 grams
