Default Taking a Stand Against Protein Shakes

I have tried at least five different brands of protein in the year or so i've been working out and only isopure doesn't go thru me like poop thru a goose or give me absolutely toxic gas that nearly got me banned from my jujitsu school. The problem is that isopure is rediculously expensive and I just don't wanna pay that kind of money. I'm not complaining (ok maybe a little) but I want to take about a month off from protein powder and see how things go.

My question now is what to eat after my workouts instead of a protein shake that is healthy (i recently read a thread on here about chocolate milk after a workout...no thanks)

any suggestions??? thanks.

Did you try drinking slower? Or halfing the scoop? Or just drinking it with water?
I found that the higher the protein content the faster is goes through me...now I use Costco protein and it has like 24g of protein and if I want more I just double scoop it...
Just a thought...

You can always eat a can of tuna, which is what I do if I don't have my protein powder around.
Which brands have you tried? You could be lactose intolerant or something, have you tried any of the soy-based proteins? I gotta admit, though, that since incorporating protein shakes in my diet, I too am ****ing like a goose. I'm currently using ON Gold Standard 100% Whey (vanilla ice cream flavor, and it's tasty!).

Did you only try Whey powder?
If so you might be lactose intolerant.

Otherwise try some digestive enzyme to help you digest Protein.
Try to find one with at least Protease 1 and Protease 2.

Good luck!

Buy some digestive enzymes - your body's not digesting it properly.

Thats what advice I was going to give him. If you are having those symptoms, it sounds like you are not digesting the protein efficiently.

You may try goat whey as well.

Sounds like the quality of the protein is low . Digestive enzymes may help digest what he does absorb but it won't give the protein any higher quality. Have any of those protein product contained whey concentrate? Random question...
