Arrow 12 Week Program - Need Advice

HI All,

Just found this website, and must says it's been very informative so far.

A short history here: I use to be very into weights/nutrition while in high school nearly 7 years ago, and just got back into the gym the past month. I been hitting the weights, eating healthy, getting at least 8 or more hours of sleep, and have started to see some small results recently.

After my workouts I would drink an EAS AdvantEdge Nutrition Shake with 17 G protein, just to give my body needed nutrients, something I picked up at Costco just for the sake of it as I began to hit the weights again.

I’m now ready to start a 12 week program, and want to get involved with a MRP shake in the morning, after a workout, and then start a creatine stack -- per my trainer at the gym.

I’m 6 FT. Lean, Ectomorph body style, and weigh around 182-185 consistently.

My goal is pack on around 15-25 pounds of muscle in 12 weeks, adding muscle mass, and staying lean.

This is what I have been thinking my program will be (any suggestions welcome)
1-4 Weeks:
-- Gym for weights 3-4 times a week/2 days cardio (bike, jog)
-- Meal Replacement shake in the morning + small breakfast
-- Whey Protein Shake in mid afternoon + lunch
-- Chicken/Rice/Salad Dinner
-- MRP shake after workout in the evening
** will snack on fruit and oatmeal at the office as a snack

4-8 Week Interval
-- Supplementing Creatine to the above program
- will stack creatine week 5
-- changing my workout scheme, and mixing it up

8-12 Week Interval
-- add another supplement to this regime?
-- maintain a smaller creatine intake
-- mix up the workout program

I have been trying to educate myself as much as possible lately. I can’t say I know about all the buzz lately in the supplement world, what’s hot and what’s not. The only items I know will help in achieving my goals are whey protein and creatine thus far.

Some other questions I have:
Would you recommend taking different supplements, or sticking to one brand for whey/creatine etc.. like EAS, Champion, Met-Rx?

Do I need to take any anabolic type supplement if I want to gain over 15 lbs of muscle mass – not including the mass I will gain from whey and creatine?

Thanks for your time,

Anthony

Your goal will be a hard one to reach and will require alot of dedication.

-- Gym for weights 3-4 times a week/2 days cardio (bike, jog)

What is your workout scheme? May as'well post that up for comment.

The creatine seeing you've been away from lifting probably isn't going to help you much. I'd wait for 3-4 months before supplementing creatine or anything other than whey protein and or glutamine if your one of the rare breeds who believe it works. Also of course not excluding a multi-vitamin.

Also again, with your limited training as of current, I would FOR SURE stay away from anything on the anabolic side.

Have you got some good foods lined up to eat? Hows your diet?

Really you need to be eating 5-6 proper meals throughout the day. I don't know much about MRPs, I don't know if they really count as a meal, but regular shakes definitely don't. So you need a proper breakfast, and a couple more solid meals. I'd be suprised if you could put on 15 pounds in 12 weeks though. Maybe if you did no cardio and ate like a pig.
