Mrbobcat has a spectacular aura about
Default missing morning protein

Hey guys, I usually sleep as long as I can and then rush around to make it to school/work, ect. I usually grab a coffee and donut or muffin on the way. I usually eat lunch maybe 2 hours later, but realize I'm missing protein in the morning meal. When I stay home in the morning, I usually have a couple eggs and toast or oatmeal. I tried putting my egg white protein or muscle milk in with the coffee, but it does'nt mix well and tastes bad and cold protein drinks in the morning is hard to stomach. Any ideas what else to drink or eat or should I not worry about it and just make up for it later in the day?

No. Your breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. It should be one of if not the biggest meal of the day. I would suggest making time to eat your breakfast. Get some eggs, milk, oatmeal, and a protein shake in the morning. This is a crucial time.

Well I assume you dont make your own donuts so you go to a store. Most little stores carry protein bars, grab one of those...

Oh Yeah! is a good tasting bar if you can find it. Try some out, they are also usually cheap. But you really shouldn't short hand your breakfast... Wake up earlier!

I know, I should take my gf's advice and go to bed earlier. The problem is, I'm used to working 2nd shift and eating when I get home and then again before I go to bed (about 1-2am) and then try to get 8 hours of sleep which only leaves me a few minutes to grab something, plus I need my morning coffee. I guess I should just get up earlier and eat and skip the last meal. I have cut my hours back at work, but now I have to get up earlier on thursadays for clinicals and still work late on fridays. Its hard to get into a schedule right now. I guess just try my best for the next few months until I can hopefully make it thru school...

Just drink some whey with water and use room temp water if you are that bothered by cold drinks in the morning - OR - Get used to cold drinks
You dont want to mix any protein or supps in with hot liquids, it breaks them down quickly.

I dont see the big deal though as I chug my protein down in a few gulps and it's over, I hardly even get a chance to taste it, much less worry about anything else.

Whey with water alone wont cut it for a good breakfast when you wake up.

Well that with a muffin (since that's what he eats for breakfast) is still certainly about 10 times better than just the old muffin by itself.
At least he can shoot back 30-40 grams of protein on top of the muffin.

I agree though, not the best choice, but still certainly better than what he is doing now right?

If I myself am on the run I mix mine with.

* 40 gr of whey, oatmeal, banana's, yogurt, a few raw eggs and either 12 to 16 ounces of water or milk depending on my mood.....Now that's a good breakfast on the run

Yeah bro... I gulp mine down like I stole the $hit!

I too rarely taste my whey proten although it doesn't bother me when/if I do. It's not uncommon for me to spill some in my beard and stuff lol...

Oh man, I have spilled it in my goatee and not realize it and then just a little later that stuff smells like puke! I'm like walking around going "what the hell, is that my breath?" hahaaha

Anyone ever leave their shakers in their car for a day? Thats the worst smell ever -

I know, its my only real nutrition downfall as I don't eat hardly any junk food the rest of the day or hardly ever drink alcohol. I usually only do it on mon. and wed. when I get up late and head to school, mostly to get me thru for an hour and a half until lunch time. I'll try to do better now. Funny thing: I skipped breakfast twice this week and my weight is up about 4 pounds since last week. Probly from not working as much, not getting enough sleep and stress from mid-terms last week. My strength is up too, so I'm not complaining...

Yeah the shaker out in the car on a summer day = not good.

Honestly though, it doesn't take but 5 minutes to cook some eggs and for me, but 30 seconds to eat them. The hardest part is training yourself to get up and into the habit of making yourself cook and stuff...

Come training and the time that I got serious, I seen that a diet and putting forth the effort to do these kind of things paid off very nicely. Thats why I cannot stress the importance of a diet enough for any goal whether it be cutting/bulking or anything really...

Try this little breakfast.

Its fast,easy,taste great and convenient.

Mix one cup of oatmeal (regular, dry) with 2 scoop of protein and add a bit of black coffee.(not too much...cause it have to stay pudding like texture.)

Just mix it and enjoy it.

You get a lot of carbs, lot protein and lot of time is saved.

If I'm running late in the morning, (like this morning) I have a stash of 'Detour Oatmeal' bars that I dip into. It's something like:

460 calories
58g carbohydrates
5g fiber
14g sugar
30g protein

Lot of nutrition for a bar that you can take with you. DON'T FORGET TO BRING SOME WATER WITH YOU THOUGH!!! Those suckers really dry your mouth out.
