Default Why I stopped taking NOXplode......

So, I have been a long time advocate of NOXplode. I loved the energy, focus, and pump I got. I took it religiously and ordered a new tub every time I ran out.

This past month my good friend who is in med school up north popped in for a visit. He commented on my gains and was really impressed. He then saw the NOXplode.

"You do know that L-Argine has been proven to prohibit HGH release in males, right"? Nope- I had no idea.

he then directed me to numerous studies online that back up this claim, basically showing that I was HURTING my gains more than anything.

I'm not saying everyone should stop taking it because I said so, but I'd atleast encourage everyone to research L-Argine and the effects it has on natural HGH, which is vital to a male's growth!

Well, Im sure in smaller amounts there is no problem with arginine. However, in no-xplode there is large amounts.

These are all relatively new studies. For years studies showed L-Arginine actually increased HGH. These new studies basically say that is true to a point, however at a certain time it begins decreasing rapidly.......think a "mountain".

The studies I saw were in some medical journals, I'll look for 'em and put them up when I find them.

I personally will never take NO products because it is known to cause increases in free radicals (oxygen and nitrogen radicals).......fun stuff.

I think his friend might have been showing him journal articles from databases such as pubmed and medline

EDIT: oops nvm, I just saw that the OP already replied... but in any case, if you go to a library website, they should have free links to those, and sometimes they are also free on google scholar

Im in no way endorsing NO, but those studies show the effect of l-arginine on the body when taken all by itself. Who knows, when combined with other aminos it might have a synergistic effect. theres so many ingredients in NO that you really cant compare those studies to NO's effect on the body. Make sense?

Further info on NO damage to the body. There are several other studies out there, but this thread was a quick find..........I realize most supps have side-effects, but free radicals are not something I want to deal with........

Best Nitric Oxide supplement

Don't you fight free radicals with supplements like antioxidants and such?

Of course I do - NAC, R-ALA, etc. But I just think it is moronic to subject yourself to this risk even if you take something that is supposed to combat them.

You, of all people, should know the damage of free radicals, ROS or otherwise.

Follow up:

Like I said, I'm not here to condemn NOXplode or any NO products. All I'm saying is that there are studies support and refuting it's use.......therefore I can't make a sound enough decision on whether or not this is something I should be taking. When I can't do that- I don't.

It's also a relatively new product, therefore studies are going to be somewhat limited and perhaps short sighted when dealing with it.

I posted this just to get people thinking about it, considering NO is one of the most talked about topics in this forum (from what I've seen).

Happy Holidays!
