Whey protein lasts for an extremely long time if its stored in a decent environment. It should be fine. There was just an article in men's fitness about the life of protein and how it lasts for years.

Protein as with any other supplement will deteriorate after time.If you have kept it in a cool, dry place, it should be fine, but if its past the expiration date, I would just go ahead and buy a new tub.

Could you show me somewhere that shows proof of whey protein going bad after the expiration date or that shows its degradation? Thanks,

I have returned/replaced some ON Gold because it was bad. It was apparently not stored correctly. ON replaced it without any problem. It tasted like sour milk (and no, it was mixed with water). It wasn't old, it was a new 5 lb. tub, but it was bad... I mean I have drank some bad stuff in my day, but this stuff was like trying to drink milk that was three weeks past the expiration date.

I actually heard this about ON as well. I think they had a bad run at one point.

Its food and food goes bad eventually. thats why they have to put expiration dates on it. If it tastes funny, throw it away. otherwise chances are its ok.
