Default Dextrose: Too much sugar at once?

In the book I'm reading designed for the skinner ectomorph people like myself. They recommend a protein/dextrose drink 15 mins before lifting, one during lifting, and one following lifting. With the dextrose being 65 or grams of sugar a piece, is that too much sugar at one time?

The recommendation are good for anybody that want to gain muscle. but during your workout, I would keep it to water of maybe a gatoraid/poweraid kind of drink.

There's people who believe more is necessary while other think it's about right. I am a meso-ecto, so my pre-workout is low gi sugar, only after my workout I go with a 120g of simple sugar like dextrose.

It's too much if you are diabetic elseway it's okay, sip on it for a while so you don't get a dizzy feeling out of it.

Exactly. Unless you are diabetic, that would not be too much especially during the time of post workout.

However, I still feel you can get the same results with only around 30-40 grams of a sugar source post workout.

Right now I'm drinking 24g protein and 60g of dextrose pre workout, and the same for my during and post workout drink.

Sounds high to me?

I used to take about 60 grams of Dextrose with 48 grams of protein post workout, but that was it and although I redeemed some benefits and gains, I was incomfortable even taking in that amount of Dextrose.

Here's something to think about.....
CellTech has 75 grams of Dextrose in each serving and the recommended dosage is one serving immediately post workout and that's it.

You are ingensting over 180 grams!!

If you want to take it pre, during and post workout, I'd slim it down to 25 to 30 grams per serving.....Just my opinion

Yeah I was thinking it was high too but I was just going by the book: Scrawny to Brawny and that is what they recommended.

I would suggest drinking a whey shake and eating some complex carbs about 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to workout. My choice of complex carb being oatmeal. It helps me very well in my workout.
