Exposure to excessive vanadium occurs in some occupations and with consumption of some dietary regimens for weight reduction and body building. Because vanadium is vasoactive, individuals exposed to excessive vanadium may develop adverse vascular effects. We have previously shown that vanadyl sulfate causes acute pulmonary vasoconstriction, which could be attributed in part to inhibition of nitric oxide production. In the present study we investigated whether NO inhibition was related to phosphorylation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) This could eb why people hae made the transition from vanadyl sulfate to NO2. They sell [Universal Nutrition] Vanadyl Sulfate @ my job and it sells rarely. I've never really looked into it but from what Massive D wrote, that IS a good reason to leave it alone. I'm not sure if that's entirely true but I'll stick to my good ol' NO2 products like NO-Xplode and such.

Over ten years ago when I used workout in college(about 4 years straight solid experience, and yes I was pretty jacked) I would mega dose the stuff and wash it down with 100grams of twinlabs carbofuel. About 30 minutes after taking it my body would turn bright red, and burn like a sunburn. It would go away over a period of about 15 to 20 minutes, and my pumps and endurance was unreal. Obviously I wont take the stuff to the degree that I was in the past. That was just plain stupid, and possibly life threatening. But....I do wanna give it a shot again. If I remember right. With enough carbs and protein, I felt pumped all day long.

Oh yeah, also lets not forget what vanadyl sulfate does. It acts like insulin and shuttles carbs and protein into the muscles.
What is the Difference Between Vanadium and Vanadyl Sulfate? Vanadium is the element found in nature. Vanadyl sulfate, on the other hand, is a "salt" of vanadium, which is physiologically the more relevant form. In addition, the "salt" is much better absorbed than elemental vanadium. In large amounts, vanadium can be toxic. For an individual of average size and weight, a daily dose not exceeding 10 mg should be safe. In case of any complicating factors or doubt, the primary care physician should be consulted. Among the mild side effects are diarrhea and loss of appetite. If these sign should appear with the minimum dosage, competent clinical care should be sought as soon as possible. Research shows that Vanadyl Sulfate supports increased protein synthesis in the body. Bodybuilders and other athletes may notice boosts in strength, muscle hardness and energy. Get a better pump and larger muscles by adding Vanadyl Sulfate to a well balanced diet. Athletes have long used Vanadyl Sulfate to increase their performance. It is believed to play a role in regulating the body’s blood sugar levels, similar to insulin. Studies show that Vanadyl Sulfate mainly helps the muscle cells uptake glucose (instead of fat cells (adipocytes) uptaking glucose). Basically, by mimicking the actions of insulin, Vanadyl Sulfate forces more proteins, amino acids, and carbohydrates directly into muscles.
