Default Expired creatine?

Got a container of CellTech creatine powder that expires on 8/4/06 and was wondering if there would be any problems with its use after this date.

Kind of what I was thinking. You should have that used way before then. Thats not until August.

I disagree. It's still good. Expiration dates on those things are just a way for them to sell more product by having GNC get rid of them. Its not like creatine ceases to be creatine after that date.

It works... gave my sister some that expired in 2005. it may lose some potency, but for all intents and purposes, its good.

But it actually does bro...Creatine has a shelf life and turns to creatinine which is useless. Just like if you mix creatine in liquid and let it sit in the fridge. After a few hours it turns to creatinine.
So if you want to waste the tub, use it after the date

IN REGARDS TO TAKING EXPIRED SUPPLEMENTS IN GENERAL

It is difficult to estimate expiration dates on supplements, but many of them can decompose and either not be as effective or potentially decompose into undesirable substances. Health is more important than money.

Personally, If it's a little passed the expiration date, I'm still gonna use it. Sorry, i just don't trust The supplement companies. I have no evidence but i believe that they put those expiration dates on so they can move product faster. Test it out and see what happens.

I agree. Monohydrate is relatively unstable and decomposes rather easily...I would throw it away or risk wasting a Creatine cycle...

Kinda related but I dunno, I bout a 2.2 lb tub of gnc creatine mono, and it was awesome, the powder was very fine, and mixed great, and worked well. Went through that stuff like candy. It was so good I bought another tub, however, this tub is different. The powder in this tub isnt as fine and leaves a sandy residue in my mouth after taking it. It also doesnt seem to be as effective. Just curious if anyone has had similar experiences......

Well, I bought two 200 serving containers of GNC Monohydrate and I liked it a lot. I'm about 3/4 done the first container in about a month's time. Of course, then I pulled my hammy, so i've been off it for about a month...looking to start up again soon. I'm worried about it expiring too. I might not get through both containers until mid summer. Bought the stuff in early to mid February. You guys think i'm alright till mid summer?
