Stop! Stop! Stop! A loading phase isn't necessary! taking cell - tech post training is more than sufficent. The whole loading phase thing is only going to cause you to be a repeat consumer. There's a mountain of information available about creatine and it's use as well as it's chemical structure. The loading phase is not needed...Best of luck!

You can load or not load, its your preference. Loading is not necessary. The loading phase means taking 20 grams a day in 4 divided doses for 5 days then doing a maintenance phase of about 3-5 grams per day. You can however achieve the same results by not loading and only taking 5 grams a day and it will take about 21 days to achieve the same muscle saturation as the loading phase. The 5 day loading phase will just get you saturated quicker. Some say to cycle off creatine for 4 weeks once every 2-3 months. There is no data to support doing this. It does take about 21-28 days of being off creatine to get your body's creatine levels back to normal.

in support of nitehawk, in 1996 this was said
A similar, but more gradual, 20% increase in muscle total creatine concentration was observed over a period of 28 days when supplementation was undertaken at a rate of 3 g/day. In conclusion, a rapid way to "creatine load" human skeletal muscle is to ingest 20 g of creatine for 6 days. This elevated tissue concentration can then be maintained by ingestion of 2 g/day thereafter. The ingestion of 3 g creatine/day is in the long term likely to be as effective at raising tissue levels as this higher dose. this was found again in 1999 and if i remember correctly in 2004. these were the only studies done on loading protocols that i'm aware of. if someone knows of others, it would be cool to see them
