Athletic events deplete some vitamins/minerals. Do you get enough vitamins/minerals in your diet now? I would guess no, so take a multivitamin to be safe and healthy.

There is nothing wrong with Centrum vitamins. The problem is that they are designed for regular people and not athletes. GNC's Mega Men vitamins are just loaded with more of the key nutrients and other goodies that athletes/ bb'ers need. They are a very good product and I highly recommend them......ok I have said enough I am starting to sound like a GNC employee (eeeeewwww!!! ).....

Dude, I know you just said what you would start taking them, but man, its amazing. I started taking a good multi after a long palteau in lifting, and I was just taking them to be healthy, but man. They helped my gains, and running, my life was just better. When your body gets what it needs to run, then it starts doing everything else btter....better sleep, better workouts, more focused in school....all of that.

Do you even know what is in centrum? Anti freeze. Polyethylene Glycol. That is the sickest thing I have ever herd. (also PEG) Another type of anti-redeposition agent, PEG is a polymer made from ethylene oxide and is similar to some non-ionic detergents. Not considered toxic, it takes large doses to be lethal in animals. However, PEG is slow to degrade and is synthetic. Or glycol: a sweet but poisonous syrupy liquid used as an antifreeze and solvent or n: A type of plastic often used in the construction of boats or plastic shells for boots because it is inexpensive and bombproof. [url]http:// www. centrumperformance. com ( I don't think I can post a link so I broke it up. ) Phytonadione (Vit.K), Polyethylene Glycol, Polysorbate 80 I just copyed part of the ingredient list.

I didn't wanna start another thread about multivitamins but here's my question. I work-out at 24 hour fitness and their trainers seem to always recommend getting APEX a brand they only carry for multivitamins. I've never heard of the brand so I'm wondering if any of you guys have tried them. Their only for $10 a bottle (90 caps).

i asked the same question about the apex protein powder. it was at my gym so i was taking it for about 2 months. every response i got was to stay away from apex. its cheap for a reason. stick with the good stuff. I now use 100% ON Whey and i have to say. MAJOR DIFFERENCE!!. Take everyone's advice on here. stick with the stuff that works. they want to sell you apex at the gym so the gym can make money. I take GNC Mega man. I recommend them but their are others out there also.

Do you have any idea how many things you eat contain glycol? Cough syrop is almost always glycol based. Most creams you rub on your skin, shampoo, conditioner, even muffins have it to keep that illusion of being moist after 6 months on the shelf. Peg too. You`ll find both in lip balms among other things. I wouldn`t suggest drinking a 40 gallon drum of it but it certainly won`t hurt you in the quanities in your daily diet. There`s a big difference between FDA approved glycol and anti freeze.

For one, I do not eat creams, I do not eat shampoos, conditioners and I don't eat muffins any more. I do not take cough syrup I suck on vitamin C and have some japanese stuff my mom got me that does not have glycol that I garggle with.. I have not taken cough syrup for over few years now. Cigarets won't hurt you ether but over time you will have some kind of problem. My vitamins do not have glycol any way. If you can avoid it why not? Im just telling you what is in centrum. And iv seen sites sell glycol for mixing with food or supplements and even they said not have in mass quantities or it can be fatal. I am just being honest. I know for one centrum does not get absorbed because when people at the office do blood work they end up having to switch to a higher quality brand we recommend. It is all in the numbers. GNC is another one people take and end up having to switch. Well that is my 2 cents. Charby I under stand where you are coming from. I for one take extra caution with what I eat and try to avoid any thing like that including food colors and artificial flavors. I guess I am not the average person ether. I try to go all kosher and organic and vegan if possible.

I hope you don`t eat creams! Kudos for watching your diet so closely, it takes a heck of lot more discipline than I`ve got. When I`ve got a cough, I take cough syrup dude. It would be nice and certainly a lot healthier if we could all go back to home made meals that gramma spends the day cooking but life seems to always get in the way of that. My point was that the amounts used in foods are so minimal it`s almost non existant. In 99.999% of people`s diets, there are hundreds of other thing to worry about. If you want to cut it out, good for you, just don`t keep the idea that you`re drinking engine coolant in your head. You`re grossing yourself out for nothing.

PEG is PolyEthylene Glycol and it has recently been approved by the FDA for use as a laxative. Ethylene glycol is Antifreeze and it is toxic. There is a difference. It has to do with the processing in the liver. PEG isn't great but it won't cause the neurotoxic and hepatotoxic effects that Antifreeze will cause.
