Default Calcium Caseinate OR Micellar Casein

I am looking for a good nite time shake but Im not sure which one of these I should get. I've read good things here about casein, so I think I wanna go with that. I see these two casein proteins and read teh descriptions on the site, but its all Chinese to me lol. http://trueprotein.com/store/comersu...?idCategory=22

Ok so the bottom line is that the caseinate is cheaper, and that makes me like it. Then the micellar is more, so it might be better. What is the basice difference between the two and is it worth the extra $$$ for the micellar or is the caseinate just as good for the purpose?

Also, is it good to mix with milk for a before bed shake or should i take it with gatorade or something like a pwo shake? What other things are good to put in a nite shake?

Thanks

no it's not worth the extra money for micellar if you are on a budget. If you got money to blow then go for it but both a slow burn proteins meant for pre bedtime or morning. Definitely not PWO.

Other things to add in night time shake

cottage cheese
egg whites
fruits for flavouring

I was taught that casein proteins, or any slow digesting protein is best taken as a part of a meal replacement or before going to bed.
morning protein should be fast digesting protein with complex carbs to "break the fast"

your protein needs in the morning won't require a full out whey shake. Sure it'll get absorbed faster but you only need so much and then half an hour later, there's no aminos for your muscles. A good complete breakfast should provide more than enough protein, carbs are more important in the morning since the body has been fasting.

I like milk protein isolate better than caseinates or micellar, it's both whey and caseinate before they get separated so you get the benefits of both and it's economical. It's essentially milk with the carbs and fat removed. This would be the protein I would use for slow burn/pre bed time.

ok well i think im gonna order the milk protein isolate soon. Does anybody think i should get the caseinate instead? They are the same price

I usually only have a big bowl of cereal in the morning so maybe a smaller morning shake would be a good idea. Would either of these proteins be better than the other for that purpose? Or would one be better for morning and the other for night?

I'm getting 11 lbs right now but if i should use 1 for both times maybe i will order more. Although, the next price discount isnt until 26 lbs lol. I dont know if i have anywher to put that

Get the milk protein isolate. It's 80% micellar casein/20% WPI and way cheaper.

What I meant to say was that its a cheaper way to get Micelllar casein. I think its a better product than caseinate even though it costs the same.
