Default Soreness

What's the best supplement for recovery. I'm not on any supplements right, but I work out 4 times a week, pretty hard. After I work out a muscle, it is really sore for about 2 days.

Anything I can take that will stop me from being sore.

Default Recovery L-Glutamine

Hey thanks for info on L-Glutamine, I researched it on this site, and found some good info. I am deffinately interested in taking some, but I was wondering if this was a good price for what I am getting.

If you know of a cheaper site to get it from let me know, or let me know if this is a good price.

Thanks everyone,,
INFO is below......

GL3, 2-Aminoglutaramic Acid, is a pure L-Glutamine supplement in crystalline powder form. Glutamine has become more prominent as new studies reveal its unique contribution to protein synthesis (muscle growth), anti-proteolytic (prevents muscle tissue breakdown) functions and growth hormone elevating effects.

Damn, I can't believe GNC is cheaper than anywhere
I'm always in shock when I see the prices when I walk in that store.

Let me know if you find it cheaper, and post that link.

Thanks,
Much

Default New Price

Hey I just rechecked that site (BodyBuilding.com) and their L-Glutamine is on sale for 17.69 for 500 Grams. This seems like a good price, but I don't believe it has the Vit C, E, and N-Acetyl Cysteine that you mentioned for absoption.

If you find that stuff again around that price let me know, if not I guess I will get this stuff in the next couple of days, because I'm still sore, which is rediculous considering it has been like 4 days since I worked out.

How long have you been working out for? If you're sore for 4 days after, you could be overtraining. Take a look at your routine perhaps?

If you are training hard you will get very sore at first (if you have just began weight training)....give it time and you won't be as sore....If you aren't just starting to lift you should probably look to make sure you aren't overtraining if you are sore 4 or more days. If you are only sore for 2 days that shouldn't be a problem. Also, no supps are going to completely eliminate soreness (if they did they would be advertised everywhere and would be HUGE sellers). Some soreness is natural. I am not even going to get into Glutamine and why or why not you should take it.....too many threads on that already......

Default Soreness

Yea I started reading a heated thread about if L-Glutamine even works or not. One guy said it did, the other said only small amounts are absorbed and the rest is destroyed by stomach acids.

So, unless I know for certain it works, I'm not gonna spend my money. I have done leg exercises before, but I haven't done squats in years, so apparantly I used a muscle that I haven't used in a while, but now the soreness has passed, and the next time I do squats I'm sure the soreness will be less.

I do about 5 sets, 8 reps of squats, leg extension, calf raises, and leg curls. So I know I'm not over working

Thanks
Randy
