Default Need a weightgainer

Hey guys, I need to pack on some weight and I was wondering which weight gainer everyone else uses. I tried N-Large but I couldnt stand the taste. I was reading up on Cytosport and that sounds pretty good. Comments? Thoughts?

Thumbs up

Look. I think you should get Cytogainer, but TAKE it only once a day, and that should be RIGHT after you workout! That thing packs 1000 calories, which I think is tight. It's also tight because it throws yuor body into high anabolic gear so your mucsles stay insulin senstive, meaning you'll be in a growth phase for at least 4 hours.

I call this my weightgainer cocktail.
2 1/2 Scoops Van Whey Protein(generally 120cal 2g Fat, 3g Carb, 22G Prot)
1 Tbs Peanut butter (95 Cal, 8g Fat, 3.5g Carb, 4g Prot)
1 1/2 cups favorite cereal, Cinn toast crunch (260 cal 7g Fat, 48gC, 2G Prot)
1 Cup Fat Free Milk (80 Cal, 0gF, 12gC, 8gc)
1 Large banana (187 Cal, 1.5gF, 42C, 1.5gP)

What you get is:
922 Cal
23.5g F (Sounds like a lot, but u figure, 6oz of steak is 10+ grams of saturated fat, while half of this is EFA, and some can be 5+ can be reduced by changing cereals)
113g C (about 25g is sugar (insulin impacting))
70.5 P

Basically this is a homemade weightgainer which if u dont like the ingredients u can swap for others but this taste pretty good, u can add honey to protein yogurt and cereal combo for a good weight gainer too

That sounds pretty damn good... I like Honey Bunches of Oats myself. And what if he puts even more peanut butter on some bread?... Just to double or triple the cals. and the 1k mark.

That sounds alot better than ANY weight gainer on the market. One thing I dont understand however, what do you mean by insulin impacting? Also, does it matter what brand the banana is?

insulin impacting means it doesnt make ur insulin levels spike. keeps ur body in an anabolic enviroment

if you buy the steel cut oats, they are 600 calories per cup with virtually no fat and of course they are oats so they are good for you..if you cant find steel cut then just get the old fashioned oats 300 calories per cup....eat a cup of oats with every meal (sweaten them with splenda not sugar for a clean bulk) take a good multi and lots of protein....you dont need a "weight gainer shake"

Here's a crazy idea....Eat more! It seems this is the month for weightgainer questions. Your gonna spend 30 bucks for like 15 servings of weightgainer that is mostly maltodextrin. You gonna gain weight, but it will be fat. Do yourself a favor and analyze your diet and then add 500 cals to that. Gain good weight not fat.

bump on that

first step is to increase serving sizes of foods or more total meals. save liquid calories when the thought of more food is just not possible.
