Dude, don't do it, you'll get skin cancer, it's not worth it.

Im sure you know the risks....

I tan....im SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER white if I dont tan, and when I do tan I dont even get that tanned...I just look human instead of as what as a sheet. I dont go in for long at all, the main thing to remember is burning is bad, so dont go in LONG. Small short sessions will gradually make you darker. You dont need a tan extender, just some regular lotion after a shower ( such as jergens natural glow - HIGHLY RECOMENDED) and a dark tanning lotion that contrains a bronzer will make your results come faster and last longer. Just dont over do it. If your dark-ish already, or look normal and your just doing it because all body builders do then I dont recomend it at all. Its a self concious thing for me. It makes me more confident and that is the only reason I do it.

Make sure the lotion is water based not oil based. Start at the lowest time interval and every 24-48hrs increase the time by a minute. If you start noticing stinging while tanning that is probably means you are burning and will be suffering that night and the few nights after. If you notice red sports, do not tan that day. Wait for the spots to go away.

I'm thinking about going tanning in the very near future, but I've always been really afraid to. I guess it's just the stigma that surrounds guys who go tanning.

Anyway, just knowing other dudes tan is a big help for me.

(I'm a freaking ghost in the winter. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm as white as a sheet all year-round.)

Once you start tanning you should limit yourself to 15 minutes the first day (regular beds) and no more than 10-12 minutes on those super beds.

I tan regularily as I hate having tan lines or a farmers tan

I started off with 15 minutes the first day ... give yourself 24 hours to see how your skin is and then perhaps you can go again after that or else wait till day 3. If you find that you didn't get pink/red then you can increase your time

I have gotten to the colour I like and have maintained my tan for over a year now just by going 2-3 times a week @ 15 minute intervals

Only you can be the judge of yourself but when you definately ask ALOT of questions ... and let them know it's your first time and see what they might recommend

I am considering the spray tan, there are boothes and the manual applications. The manual applications appeal to me as you get a hottie to spray you "all over"

lol ... the only problem with those "midnight tans" is that you are limited to alot of things afterwards ... such as bathing, washing and even sweating as the moisture removes the spray solutions they use leaving you looking blotchy and "fake"

i go tanning like once a week at a high level and that does the job for me. choose the standup bed over a laydown one if you have a choice, the standup covers more of your body. dont go too much people start asking if u go tanning or not because there is such a sudden change.

This is true, after about 4 showers you need to reapply the tan, this includes Mystic Tan, which they even say you will need once a week

I had to start out at 4 minutes, then worked my way up to 15. If I would have gone for 15 minutes my first tanning session I would have burned to a crisp.

I haven't been tanning now, it's winter. When people are too tan in winter everyone knows they go tanning. I don't want to be one of those people. I'll start going again in March or April.

I have never used the spray booths but friends of mine who wanted to get tanned QUICK right before their weddings did try it and they regret it as the pictures came out HORRIBLE ... they were all blotchy on their face and the photographer, even after doing major touch ups ... still couldn't perfect the picture

But I use regular beds or else standup ... depending on my mood

i tan about 4 times aweek too i tried sprays and all but what i really want is the dark brown look because im already tan but usually all the sprays get you like a dark orange or if im tanning outside i use nothing and tan for about 30minutes but is till dont get darker and i just dont want to get skin cancer either even though i barely burn.

Anyone know of any good products to use to get that dark brown look not the orangy look im sort of dark but want to get an even darker color
