hi guys, new to the site and trying to get some opinions on my workouts, im currently in a bulking stage..im 5'11 184 pounds and with my recent routine ive gained about ten pounds in 2 weeks..mostly muscle..its going great actually im surprised..this is the biggest ive ever been. For my pre workouts ive been cycling noxplode..i know it has a great reputation and i would say its worked for me but the edge has def. gone away after cycling it for a few months..im definetely in the market for a new preworkout drink..similiar to noxplode..a good solide creatine but maybe with a cleaner energy less jittery feeling.
For my weight gaining purposed i try to go with at least four usually 5 high protein moderately high calorie meals a day i try to make sure i get a good amount of carbs as well..i also drink one serving of my bsn pure mass weight gainer..it ends up being about 850 calories and 50g of protein per shake. My goal is to have a clean bulk..i know ima get a little chubby getting to my goal weight of 200 pounds but i want to stay fit, im thinking of incorporating one more weight gainer shake into my diet but jesus im always full throughout the day i dont know when id fit it in My work out is 4 days a week (every other day) i do 15 minutes of cardio before i lift and then lift hard and heavy (6-8 or 8-10 reps) for usually about 2 hours..at the end of my workouts i usually finish up with burnouts. so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys |

I gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks too. I have an awesome diet of chalupas and baconators. It was mostly muscle, I just retained a lot of water thanks to that sodium. I think I should look for a low sodium alternative to the baconator while I go on my cut...

Ditch the cardio until after you lift. Lifting for one hour is plenty - if you're there two hours you are either talking up the cardio bunnies or slacking off. Either way, you are hurting yourself. Save your money on the NOEXPLODE - coffee works just as well, and is a helluva lot cheaper. Post up your routine, we'll figure out why you are there for two hours and fix that. |

15 mins of cardio? That is really just a warmup prior to lifting. Cardio should be at least 20 mins to be effective, and that is at a good clip/incline/pace depending on what you are doing. I would shorten your warmup to 10 mins, just enough to warm up the joints, get a light sweat going, raise the heart a little, then go hit the weights. Also, not good to do "burn" outs all the time..save that for light days once a month.
