Sup all,

Lately when ive been lifting, by the end of the workout wen i finish i look at maself in the mirror and my eyes r totally bloodshot red, they look worse then when im totally ****ed outta ma face from drinking, this has been happening for the last 2 week everytime by the end of the workout ma eyes r totally red and ma head feels all heavy ( if u understand wot i mean). Im worried it might be high blood pressure, any thoughts or opinions why this has started to happen?

It could be high blood pressure. You aren't holding your breath during heavy exercises are you ?
Are you allergic to anything ?

I would say it is exertion. I have the same thing on deadlift and squat days. I watch myself squat in the mirror and my eyes will turn red by the end of the set. Do you close your eyes when you do sets? Squeezing eyelids tightly could do it also.

I was going to ask the same thing.

You may want to have somebody observe you to check out your beathing.
I bet breathing is the source, because what you describe is exactly what will occur for people who hold their breath or have improper breathing when lifting.

They say heavy lifting can fvck up your retna's, so there is a definite link here.

Get your bp checked first and foremost. BP is the silent killer.

ive only ever bought 1 tub of NO XPLODE joe, didnt get through half of it, used to give me a sick sensation during workouts and actually did FUKALL for me, this is well before the eyes starting going red, but its seemed to have totally stopped now ever since i been focusing on how i breath during reps and added an extra litre of water for the day.

That was my guess from the start....It's a very common problem.
Often people get into bad habits, never really learned to breathe properly when they are working out..I am one of those guys.

During my younger years I'd hold my breath during the whole set, I'd turn blue and almost pass out all the time My dad later tought me the proper breathing, but I must say, I still have issues to this day sometimes, so it never really becomes 2nd nature if you learned bad habits earlier in life.

Not only have I heard of retnal damage to your eyes from holding your beathe on max lifts, but I also heard of coronary issues, shrinking of arteries as a result of the improper breathing, so it's a serious thing

If it is slightly high at rest it could be extremely high during training...

Check your bp after a set of squats or bench.
