Default A Massive multi-thread!!

Well i've not posted on here in a while. not sure if anyone will remember me but im back none the less

well ill get started

1st. I was away on holiday for 2 weeks to barcelona and a well earned break from all the gym work was just what I needed. I've come back feeling more motivated than ever to get right back into a solid strict routine.

2nd. I've decided to start a cut. i'm not all that high bodyfat but it'll be nice to slim down for summer.

and finally! the big question..

My dad and I have decided to invest in a home gym rather than spend £25 each ($50) on a gym membership every month, so bit of a long term investment financially. And by home gym i don't mean like one of those all in one machines. We are constructing a whole new building in the back garden to house a myriad of gym equipment.

but thing is i need to know exactly what are the essentials to have in a home gym. I have about 10x12 feet to play with so i cant have big fancy cable machines or anything. I know that A squat rack and a bench are essential, a few dumbbells and a barbell as well obviously. Aside from that i'm not sure what else to put in there? Anyone else with a home gym got any tips.

also is there any places anyone can recommend in the UK to buy quality gym equipment like good sturdy benches and squat racks etc?

Thanks guys and gals =)

I think you have the essentials covered pretty well.

All I can suggest is that you get a good seat for shoulder presses, seated curls etc.
Also make sure your squat rack is the sort that you can slide your seat into for BB shoulder presses.
