I will be attending both the natural olympia and natural universe in november. Can someone advise me of the best way to travel between san fransisco and corona. I intend travelling down on the thursday after the olympia. I have checked the greyhound bus site, but cannot find exact details. And i am in australia, so would have to be able to book on line if necessary. Thank you folks!

Fairly close to LA, it wouldn't take you more than 6 or 7 hours to drive there from SF. However ONT or SNA airports are closer than LAX(and smaller, thus easier to navigate)
Also, keep in mind that you will definitely need a car when you are down there. It is very difficult to get around on public transportation in souther california, and life would be rather cumberson without a car. |

You need to get to San Francisco from Corona? There should be a greyhound line, but this my require you getting more than one bus.
Like the guy above said, you could get a flight from SNA to SFO in San Francisco and it wouldn't cost a great deal. Generally speaking, traveling to the states, you will not be able to have a one way flight, you'll have to look at getting a return flight to LAX if you are going to Corona. Then you may have to look at getting a domestic flight (e.g. from LAX to the closest air terminal to Corona that is available, and travel the rest of the distance by car or bus) out to whatever destination you need to get to. If you're getting flights then overall it's going to cost you a lot of money, if you're going to do the whole thing by bus, then it's going to cost you a hell of a lot of time.

Corona is about 40-50 miles outside of Los Angeles.
It's known as "cow town" as thats all they have out there. Smells like cow sh!t everywhere passing through. Take the flight from Ontario to San Francisco, it's probably only like a 20-30 minute flight and will be really cheap (I live in LA and I think I have seen the ads on TV for $59 to San Fran and a flight leaves every 10 minutes). A Greyhound bus ride will take you approximately 8-12 hours as they stop at everywhere in between and the people riding along side of you are not the best of companions...sick old ladies, mom's with 5-6 screaming babies beside them, convicts traveling on the down low, etc..etc.. To clarify, i will be in Frisco from 4th to 13th Nov, then want to travel to corona. If its 12 hours on a bus, i think i'll take the flight option. Is that from Frisco to LA? I have never heard of this ontario place. And from LA to corona? A local bus or again, greyhound? Screaming babies and crack addicted mothers, i love em!

You can try to get a "non-stop" bus from Frisco to LA or Ontario.
If so, the actual driving time non stop should be about 8 hours. Even so, you are still talking about an 8 hour BUS ride - Not fun And these non-stop busses are more expensive, I think probably at least $40-$60 one way.....You can get a cheap plane ticket online for $76 for one way. I just searched under cheap flights.com or something and found the flights for $76 With regards to Ontario, it's a city located pretty much right next to Corona, and it's the second largest Airport in Southern California. Anyone who wants to beat the traffic and congestion in LA, flies out of Ontario instead. So if you want to fly to LA, you can, but it's still going to be about an hour or more drive to Coronoa, so your best bet is flying to Ontario AND it wil be cheaper as flights are cheaper out of Ontario Airport and then it's like 10 mins drive to Corona fromt here Last edited by BiggerGuns=LongerDrives; 04-25-2008 at 10:05 AM. |
