I used to do that but now I put only 1/2 a scoop of whey in a little milk and then I eat some cottage cheese. It's full of casein protein. Half cup of cottage cheese gets you a natural 14g of protein.
I forced myself to like that stuff. Slowly but surely. |

i used to either drink muscle milk right before bed, or some natural peanut butter mixed with cottage cheese.

Cottage cheese and peanut butter, yummy.
My nighttime pattern consist of a warmed glass of whole milk and a cup-two cups cottage cheese (i've been purchasing the small curd instead of the usual large.)

I think, as with most supplements, 12 hours is an exaggeration; however, as far as sustained release goes, it makes sense. It doesn't have so much to do with some ingenious retro-catalyst they engineered so much as it has to do with the synergy blend of protein it uses. Its a mix of whey isolate, casein and supro in a specifically proportioned amount. You body does have a priority on these things which creates an inherent "sustained release" as it will use certain components before others.
