You're overthinking it dude.
Just letting you know, my bench went up something like 65lbs from my 1RM of all time this year. Doesn't sound like much, but when you consider my 1RM was 435, it's a lot. And I wasn't hammering that out in January either. Seriously, all sh!t aside - you give me someone with a bsd total of 620, and I have them doing at least 1000 within a year, maybe way sooner. I had a guy last year that I worked with, and his total was about 750. Within 6 months, I had him over 1200. Now, with that being said, he was a stout dude that was below where he should've been, but now this cat is benching over 450. He's right around 1500 now (about 15 months).
Crazy thing? He tore his achille's playing volleyball with his daughter and took 4 months off. Oh yeah, and he's 46 years old.
I'm telling you guys - you push it, you WILL get results. You'll get strong quick. If guys like Mark can do what I mentioned above, you kids should be able to AT LEAST duplicate that.
