Default ever felt like you aren't training enough?

Prior to my last comp in october, i trained 5 days a week, and thought I had done well. But looking at myself in the comp. DVD, i am too thin, and just burnt myself up instead of adding mass. So when i bought my new powertec gym, i thought i would follow their advice that came with it, and train every 3 days. But now it feels like i am doing nothing. But having read the 'top mistakes you've made' forum entry it seems like overtraining was the main one. Cant win can we!!
comments please.

5 days a week of training will be like cardio work as all you are doing is getting a sweat out of your workouts . You only grow mass while at rest so even 3 days could be classed as overtraining if its hardcore training your doing. To rest properly means sometimes taking a few weeks off, But as gym junkies know thats a nightmare !!!

First...let me say, It's really good to see you back! A comp! Kudos! You did it and I know you worked hard for it.

I train (lift) only 2 or 3 days a week now. It took some getting used to but I feel I'm doing much better and my gains over the past year have been rather significant for a lady my age. And I won't argue with gains!

I normally train 3x per week. Sometimes I'll hit 4, but usually 3. But I train like a beast so that's usually impossible.

I agree with you all. Its so bloody damned hard to cut back on your training. I make the excuse that i have to have my endorphin fix. But i know i will still appear as a thin clown on stage.

You sound like me. Now that I get up at 3 am to lift I really can only handle going 3x per week. I go balls to the wall though and vomiting is a common occurance.

never heard of this "over-training" stuff. I train 5 days a week, and making progress. Of course, I just started lifting this year.

Overtraining is an excuse not to lift heavy and intense. That's the most overused phrase anywhere.

Its a common known internet-google fact that overtraining most often occurs during the timeframe between Thanksgiving and New Years. Its due to the rigorous strain placed on the body thru all the extra food and beer on both holidays, the pivotal last weeks of the NFL season and the 83 Bowl games in CFB.

I feel overtrained every Friday and a weekend of no lifting and lots of beer and wings always gets me pumped up for getting back in the gym on Mondays.

what is Little John up to? He was fun as hell at the bar now. We definitely need him at the rope-a-harlett next time.

Me and him lifted together the other day and I'm not ashamed to say he wore my ass out dead lifting. We used about 42 different stances and mechanisms too. lol Crazy man. He's nuts.

Great pic - I remember it being taken, but I thought a HAAHHHLET took it. LOL - I remember them telling us they'd like for us to put our shirts back on, but they can't make us do anything.

He looks like he's just full of energy, and you can tell how much he enjoys lifting. That man is SOLID.

Man, he lifts like he parties. All out. bwahhahaa he carried a ****ing Subway sandwich into the gym and was eating during his workout. I know someone's going to come on and say WHY you shouldn't do that (before they realize he weighs 191 and can bench like 565, dead 750 - both raw). LOL Kills me.
