hahah ya i'm done i like being at 170 though it would be nice to bigger,buti have no need/desire. though maybe sometime in the fall i'll start back up again and then start cutting around spring break.

If your transformation is "complete", then post your after pic. No point not to. haha you might actually win if you look better than your before pic.

I have before pics but I cannot figure how to ge them, on they will go on with my after pics which will be taken on a beach in Ibiza.

I am up 13lbs but then I started like an extra from Blanck Hawk Down.

Chest up 1.5"
Bis 1"
calf 1/2"
quad 3/4"

still look like an anorexic but hey from acorns grow oak trees

Dude you can't enter the competition 16 days after it starts. Its up to the group, but I'd only vote it if your pictures included a news paper or something with a date. Not just some paper with the date written on it. We need PROOF, that these pictures are ligit before the contest start date. ESPECIALLY, if you say you gained 13 lbs in 16 days. Send that sh!t into guiness.

yes you are missing something - quite a lot actually.

If you go back and read the bulking thread you will see in page 2 and 3 that i quite clearly state that I am going on holiday to Ibiza on the 2nd september and accordinly started on the 5-6 of May. 3 weeks before the start of this journal.

being two weeks before the official start - does this disqualify me? do i care? not really, i am using it like this as a means of motivation in that I have to reproduce my efforts for others to critique (as indeed you are doing now).

Accordingly I started on the 5th of May at 168 lbs and 13 odd % bf, I get this checked at my gym which happens to be Northern Ireland's sport science university gym.

Since then I have gained 13 lbs. Now when I started this thread it was c. 10 days ago when indeed I was 181 lbs as I am now. So you may say that I have gained nothing in the last week and a half. On the contrary that was a Monday morning after a friday, saturday and sunday bender so was holding water and looking like cr@p. As of this morning Fri 6 July I am 181.78lbs naked first thing in the morning at the end of a week and with a 31" waist so I know that I have lost fat and gained muscle.

So to answer your question yes, you missed quite a lot but i hope that this clears everything up for you.

By the way I am self deprecating enough without others having a go.

Furthermore before I started running I was 203 lbs and 8% bf with a bench of 275lbs, squat of 330lbs and dead of 395lbs so it would be fairly normal that through muscle memory I should gain quickly as you can see from the fact that my pathetically small lifts are increasing every week.

If it is any consolation for you i still look like sh!t.

question for the bigger guys as there seems to be conflict.

i notice a lot of guys seem to be always wanting to be bigger and never cut the cake to show the muscle. Does curiousity never make you just want to get ripped.

i know I am probably wrong on this as part fo the reason I have started again is for women but surely I would be nice to see the fruits of the labour?

Will that day to show it off ever come.

Is it not better to drive round town in a mercedes than to have a ferrari in the garage?

Another one, is it possible to lose fat while bulking?

I gain muscle and lose fat most of the time... Me and Nate were talking the other day and I showed him a recent pic and he pointed out that I'm down 2-3% since he was here last, but I've definitely gained weight.

I guess I'm a bit different than most people because I stay relatively lean. Actually, I don't even believe in that "all out eat-a-thon bulking" style stuff anyway. But right now, my primary goal is to gain as much quality size as humanly, or at least, Boydly possibly.

I think a lot of people would be well served to put themselves through a fat loss cycle. I know it would increase their muscular gains in the long run. But then again, I believe most people go way overboard with their "bulking" and use it as an excuse to not put forth the effort of trimming down.

It's just like training - people love to do the lifts that they're great at but rarely want to do what they suck at. Well, the bigger guys gain size easy and want to continue doing that. They'd struggle to trim down, so they don't do it. The smaller guys always talk about getting ripped. They struggle with putting on size so they constantly stay at maintenance or in a trimming down mode. MOST people don't have an easy time with both phases, so they don't do both phases. I notice that a lot of people that DO regularly gain size and then trim down really don't net too much size over time and are constantly spinning their wheels. IMO, gaining 5lbs of LBM per YEAR isn't great progress, but I guess magazines have perpetuated the myth that you have to do it that way. Sure, if you do that consistently, you'll be big in 10-15 years. But IMO, that's glacier like speed.

Between my job and landing myself in summer school has really screwed up my bulking diet.....if anything im gonna start losing weight...i gotta figure something out....maybe ill have to use a weight gainer if its the only real option
