So I don't normally weigh myself twice in a day but I was just chugging down my casein shake and chased with some more fiber, when I decided for the sake of science to weigh myself. I just weighed in at 8lb more than my morning weight, and today was a low-ish cal day because I'm deloading after 4 weeks of going at it real hard, although I had a slightly cheating lunch (ate out, but made pretty good meal choices).

Anyways, anyone of you guys fluctuate this much in a day?

I drink a LOT of water and certainly not a fixed amount, I went to the bathroom like eleventeen times last night too, it totally sucked cuz one of the times i forgot that i had closed the bathroom door and I walked into it head first.

my morning weight over the course of a week fluctuates more than 2-3lbs, I'd say more like 4-5. Damn camel like tendencies.

It just so happened that it was time for a deload for me, which means next week I'm going to come back so pumped and ready to go it's going to be ridiculous, I can't wait.

How's body fat going? Well, I need to start doing a couple cardios a week just cuz my body loves fat so much.

Oh yeah another thing, I posted up a goal of bench 225 and squat more than that as my end goals, and if I don't meet those, I will be very shocked and disappointed to say the least, but I'll post the result of my max testing this week in my journal.

Man, I've done that exact thing. Taper your water intake down a bit before bed time. Drink a lot all day and then start cutting back 2-3 hours before bed time and that should cut your trips to the bathroom down at night, but def drink it DURING the night when you get up to look at the clock or whatever.

how much water are you guys drinking? You all better not be doing any cardio. Maybe a short session once a week, but no more!

IMO Too much water just throws your chemistry out of balance, dilutes the nutrients in your blood, not good for bulking.

I'm going to do my 2 sled sessions a week plus 1 cardio session a week, for myself I'm going to have to respectfully disagree w/ your bulking philosophy, I tried the laze around, just lift and eat method and I got FAT, I stopped getting strong, it's all in my journal. For these more ecto types yeah EAT, don't do cardio, gain a little fat becuase you don't have any.

Here's a nice little article which I also posted in my log I think.

I never fail to be amazed at all the lifters out there that want truly amazing things to come from an out of shape unconditioned body. You want your body to recover from your workouts and increase its capacity to do both weight and volume increases. You want it to do absolutely amazing things…..with a level of conditioning of a slug. I know and fully understand all of the benefits of resistance training. It by itself has wonderful benefits to your body…except as done by most it doesn’t do much for your heart, lungs, and overall metabolic system (metabolic system term used for simplicity here).

And please don’t spend any time telling me about how great of shape you are in from your lifting unless you do EXTREMELY short rest period times in your training consistently and for all sets (some guys do just this and qualify, but that is a ****ty way to build maximal strength/size). It doesn’t take **** to do an extremely hard set of 8-10 reps and then rest 90 seconds to 3 minutes from a CV capacity standpoint, and I have worked with and been around a LOT of lifters that looked great but couldn’t walk a flight of stairs without getting winded. I have seen many more that looked like **** and one reason is they are so horribly out of shape. I am not saying you can’t build maximal size and strength without a reasonable level of CV capacity, because we all know that is not true. Many lifters get freaky strong and huge never doing CV work. But for your average lifter, better results are had by a REASONABLE conditioning base.

So why is this important if you are a bodybuilder or powerlifter where maximal size and strength is your only concern? Because simply put, with at least a minimal conditioning base you will recover faster, have more work capacity, and be healthier. This doesn’t mean any high impact cardio, but low impact high intensity done for at least two 20 minute sessions twice a week. If you break into this it will NEVER impact your progress with the weights and WILL enhance it once at that level. For a bodybuilder or powerlifter the goal is to establish the base conditioning level and then simply maintain it. Not continue to take it to higher levels unless you want to potentially trade off some strength/size gains for conditioning which WILL occur once a certain threshold is met. You only make things more difficult for yourselves not being in at least minimal cardio shape irregardless of what certain “experts” might say about this.

Yeah, I've read that article. Its somewhat true in the long term. Right now your in a sprint, and this philosophy doesnt fly. I indicated once a week would be acceptable. You need your calories for building muscle right now and packing on weight. But suit yourself. My advice if for those that want to pack on the most muscle in the shortest amount of time.

To say you won't gain LBM w/out gaining fat or while doing cardio is completely ridiculous dude.

What are you going to tell them next that they need Hardee's Thickburgers before bed like you do bro? lol

You do realize that cardio increases protein synthesis don't you?

Settle down there guy, your putting words in my mouth, not cool. I never said they wouldnt gain LBM while doing cardio. Too much cardio WILL limit their possible progression in a 3 month sprint to bulk up. I said to do either no cardio for this short burst, or limit it to once a week.

Just speaking on experience man. I started working out in October 2003 at about 135, maybe 140lbs. My arms less than 15" cold flexed. After two months I had people making steroid comments at work. Just look at the beginning of my log.

Everybody is different and certainly there's more than one way to get to your dream body. Some are longer than others, but you'll never know till you try. If the thinkburger is good, i'll eat it.. hahaha.. I was literally depressed the last 5 days for not going to the gym, and now that I got my dose of gym-crack, i'm all hyper..
One thing I notice with these competition is that, the guy that bust out chowing down everything at the opening will most likely not win, because you'll get tired n stop eating or lose spirit. I know because I've been like that and probably is still like that. Steady and consistency will win. That's my observation.
