Default lacking motivation

lately i find myself lacking motivation, down and with no interest of going to the gym or whatsoever...

i am just not enjoying going to the gym at all lately, i took a week off to see if my interest and enrgy would come back but nope...same.

on a side note, when i do, i give all i have but i find myself not getting sore or barely being sore at all... i get a good workout, i get a little weak due to the muscles beign worked but not really sore...is this good, bad, normal, weird??

also, for the administrators and moderator, just a suggestion, would it be a good idea to have a regional section?? so that people within the same geographical location could get in touch and maybe would make it easier to find workout buddies... just an idea...

thanks for listening/reading and for the comments and replies.

Well this could be due to a great number of things, however the most common complaints are a poor routine creating lack of interest, Overtraining but im not sure about this in your case, poor diet plays a huge factor in training, also there are those who barely get 4 hours sleep and wonder why their workout is suffering, or you could try working out at home for a while as some people just dont enjoy the whole Gym Environment, so that can put a few people off training.

thanks for the comment pwrjim, i think it could be the routie, and maybe the fact that maybe one self might not notice gains/losses and so it kinda feels like is a waste of time and how much batter it could be to be in the couch watching discovery channel... i really need a workout buddie...

the home gym thing is not for me, i tried it, i bought a bowflex and treadmil and now they are in storage, i need the gym enviroment... and the peer pressure...

I got a shot in the arm last night that I needed when I met a friend of mine who hasn't seen me in a few months stopped in to visit. The first thing she noticed was that I had lost some of my gut and commented also on the fact that I looked "bigger", especially in the arms and shoulders, to her. So that kinda kicked my motivation up a little bit higher because now I know someone OTHER THAN ME has seen results of my effort.

I was working out at home but now I thrive on the gym environs because my computer, tv, couch, and other amenities call too loudly once I get home. This way I get my work in...otherwise I'd be on the couch watching ESPN.

As to the soreness, I wish I had an answer...I get days like that too.

Dude, if you are making gains in strength/size, don't worry about soreness. It is in no way an indicator of progress. I DON'T want to be sore.

As for motivation - that is all you man. You have to want it. Maybe you need a week off to rest and re-evaluate your goals, etc.
