how do you exactly execute this? incase you dont know what im talking about doing shrugs on a dip apparator?

reason being is i never can seem to feel it and get a good contraction doing shrugs, so i wana try it with a dip bar

Sounds like a cluster f*ck. Picking up heavy weight off the floor is much more effective for trap development.

I do face pulls for my traps these days (along with deads, upright rows etc.)

You might want to give them a go.
