Default supported bent-over rows

I've been tryin to thro new stuff in my routine. So yesturday I gave this a shot (supported bent-over row) Firstly I was surprised at the fact that I wasn't able to execute prper form with much weight at all. With a 5lb weight it was still a challenge. Felt very awkward.

Face down, the incline bench leveled with my chin. When I refered back to my reference book, I see the bench leveled below the breast, at the rib cage.

After thinking about it, I must have looked like an @ss!

Is this detail why it was so difficult, would the bench placement make much difference? Or is this exercise just a more advanced? Cause really thats what I want just want to do it properly.

Doing the rows on an incline bench isolates you more. It takes a lot of body out of the motion so you wont be able to do the amount of weight as a normal row. Its also a good rear delt exercise.
