Default testosterone therapy

i just got back from the urologist...my testosterone is 6. the normal range is 262-1593 (or something close to that). I am only 22, so i should be at the high end...obviously something is wrong. They started me on testosterone therapy...i am going to recieve 3 injections (one today, one in 2 weeks, one in 4 weeks) then be put on some kind of cream. I just wanted to see what anyone knows about this or if anyone has any comments, concerns, suggestions, things to watch out for such as side effects and etc, or just general comments, because i am obviously very upset and kindof scared about this. I do't understand why this is happening, so any comforting advice or comments would be nice. and once again, no that is not a mis-print...my level really is 6...

I am confused as to what an average level and a low level are supposed to be...There are several threads floating around now that don't correspond at all as far as what the normal range of Testosterone should be...One said that 900 was at the upper end of normal...I am not sure of the others, but I would like a clarification as to what tests all of these different doctors are using and what the real range is...

As far as I know the levels are from 250-1000 I believe of free testasterone. I was tested at 200 one time after a really long antibiotic regimen and I was feeling like shiet. I was almost suicidal. I can't even imagine 6 !!! Stay strong and find out what's wrong. Injections are a temporary fix but there is no choice it must do in your case. Once the serum in your blood is higher you will feel like superman compared to what you experience now. Make sure you know what is wrong so there is no sign of a tumor or something....

Normal levels of testosterone fall between 250 and 800 nanograms of testosterone per deciliter of blood. However, levels in the same man vary according to time of day, season and exercise. Therefore, your doctor must conduct an entire physical examination to determine whether or not you are suffering from the disorder. This is what I was told by the Wife???????

i dunno, i just know the numbers he showed me for the total testosterone range were 250-1500+ and mine was 6.

so here are some things about me for your consideration...maybe i am doing too much cardio or my diet is too strict...i dunno, please comment...

i am 22, 6'3", 180lbs...i eat 3000 cals a day, 41% protein, 44% carbs, 15% fats. the only things i limit are salt and sugar, but i still get a little of each.

as for workout:
monday cardio: 25 mins total...5 min warm-up, then 20 mins. alternating 1 minute intervals of 10.5mph and 5mph...then i lift arms for about 1.5 hours
tuesday cardio: 30 mins on elliptical (hill climp program)...then lift legs
wednesday cardio: 15 mins total...30 second sprints at 12mph with 30 seconds rest between each one (15 total)...then lift shoulders
Thursday cardio: same interval program as monday...then lift back
Friday cardio: same sprint program as wednesay...then lift chest
Saturday cardio: 45 mins on elliptical (crosstrainer program)...no lift
Sunday: no cardio, no lift

am i doing too much cardio? or am i not eating properly? can either of these cause the test. problem?

You certainly do a lot of cardio, however this still does not explain that low test. 3000 cal/day is good so IMO there is something elso going on. I'm thinking depression, tumor, overtraining, allergies, lack of sleep etc.

If I were you I would stop all cardio, and lifting for a couple of weeks and let you body catch up. I'm afraid that you need to self diagnose by removing things from your life and see what results that yields. Going to the gym has no effect so I do not see why at this moment you would go. Are you on some kind of medication?

I think you need to check back with the doc. That has to be free test level and not total. the lowest total I have ever heard of someone who has never done a roid cycle was 180. That was a 70 year old man. 6 has to be free test level which is still low. If you total test is 6, then you have some serious medical condition like prostate cancer or something like that or, you just got off of a cycle.

that is the total testosterone count...i am at 6 when the range is roughly 250-1500

i also had my free testosterone count done...i was .2 when the normal range is like around 4...so i am very low on both ends...

and no, i have never done steriods

do you think my low testosterone could be the reason for the abdominal fat i have developed? like i have said many time, i am only 6% body fat, very lean and shredded everywhere, except right around my midsection which has just developed over the past few months, even though my diet and cardio are better than they were before when i had a well-defined 8-pack...now i have this stupid little belly fat that has developed, so i am wondering if it is associated with the low testosterone levels?

For sure bro, that is prob the reason. I was down to 114 pounds and still had no abs. My test was low, but not near that low. I also have a lot of fat on my ass. Get on test injections, you will feel like a new man.
