Default Rest

How do you know its okay to cancel a scheduled workout and just rest?

For me, I watch my morning heart rate. If it jumps by 10% then usual, I take the day off. If I am unmotivated to go, I take the day off because I know this feeling is not normal- I am very motivated to achieve my goals. I push myself too hard and feel guilty when I take a day off and do not meet my workout plan for the week. I know that its good for me to rest b/c I am growing and recharging, but damn I really hate it.

What are your experiences?

Gotta go by how your body feels. When I am choosing between rest and my leg workout, I stretch. Once I get to a certain strain, and it hurts more than usual, I'm takin the day. If my head touches the knee easy, I'm liftin'.

If you're feeling alive, and the area you want to hit isn't sore, go for it.

Never thought of using my heart rate. Gotsta try that some time.

NaturalProfessor has a spectacular aura about
Default tp train or not to train that's the question...?

If you're feeling guilty about missing a training session chances are you're already overtraining and need a break-if you're sick or have a slight headcold chances are you need to not train if for no other reason than to make others sick and to stick your germs all over the equipment that nobody will clean and cause reoccurring illness for a long time...if you're too tired you shouldn't train for obvious reasons...If you just don't feel like it--get your ass in the gym because your missing 1 of the best training sessions in your life! to help prevent the overtraining demon tray taking 1 full week off from training every 13th week- that means zero training of any kind even cardio. You'll be amazed at how much it helps...best of luck!
