Default I'm Always Hungry

I used to workout out twice a day.. mornings and nights to get good and ripped.. so i used to eat anywhere from 4000-5000 calories a day and i was still loosing weight. Now i workout once a day and had to cut down the calories, but im ALWAYS hungry. I eat 6+ times a day. All i do is eat, but i never can get enough.. Any tips?

Im always going over top my caloric needs too.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

a roundabout way would be to drink more water (can make your stomach feel full) or brush your teeth when you are hungry. or just throw in a small, healthy snack... i like beef jerkey.

well im assuming your cutting.. judging by the "getting good and ripped" statement. If you are, just remember that workingout 2 times a day will really take it out of you, and you dont want to lose muscle, so dont be ashamed of constantly being hungry... most guys that lift once a day are starving 23 hours a day...eat!

but thanks guys.. the input is much appreciated.. any idea helps

Just a roundabout way - you brush them, then you have mint mouth for awhile - and you wont want to eat.

your always hungry b\c your body is trying to create muscle and b\c your metabolism is speeding up both due to lifting... if ur cutting ur jsut gonna have to deal with it... if you are bulking then lsten to your body and eat!

this may sound weird but the hunger that comes with proper lifting is kinda like being pregnant... you are more hungry than you were before b\c now you have to feed you and the baby that is developing... well with lifting you are more hungry b\c now you ahve to feed you and the new muscle that is developing... btw i was never pregnant nor plan to b i am a guy... i jus know thats how it is

Although this sounded funny, it is a pretty good analogy. It makes sense.

Are you really hungry all the time, and are never satisfied?

If so, then go straight to your doctor. You could have a problem with your hypothalamus (the drive center in your brain - it controls hunger, libido, etc...).

I'm not a doctor though, so don't take my word as the gospel. If this keeps up for any length of time, definitely go see a physician.

being hungry is part of bodybuilding, you should be hungry, your creating new muscle - im usually hungry within an hour after having a 3 pound breakfast or half a big mixing bowl of chicken an pasta etc - good signs

Is 6500 calories healthy...? Thats almost 2 pounds right there... only advice I'll give you is eat but first check with a doctor. Get a check up and ask him about your problem if he says it's ok then continue to eat but not 6500 calories...

my hunger has subsided.. i took 4 days where i just ate and ate.. i was eating when i wasnt hungry.. all i did was force food down. by the fourth day.. i woke up a little hungry but i kept forcing food.. i was so bloated i stepped on the scale at 230. On the fifth day i went back to eating right, i put on myabe a lb of fat and 8-9 lbs of muscle and im not bloated anymore.. i went from weight 207 to 217 haha i can tell its nont fat through my increased vascularity and ab/ norm definition and measurements and bf%

but 6,800 calories isnt bad

i need a base of 2,700 calories minimum without exercise.. so its a maximum of 1 lb of fat even if i dont work out..

yeah it sounds crazy but look at this way.. if ur 200 lbs with 10% body fat.. you need (LMB/2.205 X 30.4) 2484 calories a day to maintain without exercise.. and someone 200 lbs only eating 2500 calories and still working out.. is, in a sense, starving their muscles.. i do like 1 1/2 - 2 hrs of training then 30-45 mins on the treadmill.. so.. i need almost 4000 calories just to maintain

Not sure if I should advise this, probably isn't healthy, but perhaps try popping some appetite suppressants? I'm thinking of trying them myself soon.
