You said it your self.. your getting stronger and more defined but you can't gain weight.
In other words, your have reached the point where the amount of food you eat is unable to maintain any additional mass on you body. as a result you have been slimming down.. but maintaining a weight of approximately 150 pounds. You need to eat more like was mentioned... it's a very basic law of physics.

thats more of myth than anything, you would get a hell of a lot fatter if you was eating say, just icecream, didnt train, an then ate twice as much icecream, but if someones gaining lots of strength, but not gaining muscle, the reason is because there not consuming the calories to grow (or/and burning too many off) - like i said - eat twice as much and you will grow
just remember - bulk clean, bulk lean |

have you tried it? - it depends how much you eat in the first place, but generally people do not eat enough when trying to add mass - people ask me if im on steroids, i say no, but i do eat 4 x what your average person does - the response is - how did you not get fat?? - everybody just thinks its always because they ate too much that they put on fat, when in reality its probably more to do with whats being ate and when
as long as you stick to the right exercises (big compound movements), structure your routine correctly, and train with the right intensity (high), making sure to push yourself to improve your weight each time, or get that extra rep - then your gonna break down your muscles etc your gonna need the food we aint talking about a sticking point here, this person is getting much stronger, and more lean - this person is ending up with less calories than it takes to maintain, you need to be having more calories to gain size, thats the deal here - eat more Last edited by _SaVvY_; 02-04-2006 at 02:24 PM. |

There is only so much your stomach can absorb at once. The extra calories will go into fat or down the toilet. That's why pro's eat more often instead of taking huge meal.
So the guy is gaining strengh but no mass, did that occured to anyone that he might be overtraining or using too low rep range? We would need his full training routine to check that out.. |

You might have the same size, but that doesen't mean your shape stayed the same dude! If your are the same size but more cut, then you did gained muscled, unless you are taller than you used to be. |

pros do eat huge meals (get a lot of kcals from sups too), they also generally eat often - however, when bulking, some eat meals that are twice the size of 'huge' an only around 4 of them - an they also DO gain fat when bulking - you cant avoid it, unless your looking for very slow progress, you have to eat a lot when bulking - this is very well known
aslong as your bulking clean (where near everybody that goes wrong, goes wrong) its not gonna be a big problem to trim the fat off afterwards, especially with the extra muscle mass |

You have a choice, change your eating habits, or accept the results.
