I havent read that article, so am not sure what context was this advised.
Generally speaking, the body *needs* a basic amount of protein to synthesize tissue (muscle) everyday, just like it needs other macronutrients. So a certain amount of protein is required everyday, IMHO. |

the reason behind it is like putting your body into starvation mode when you cut calories drastically you body become more effiecient at storing fat and replenishing glycogen stores. it cited the example how runners b4 a marathon do a low carb diet approaching the marathon and as it get reallly close to marathon day they go high carb to store an extra amount for the event. it doesnt seem like protein should function the same way though but thats what they are saying.

Ive read about this kind of stuff but havent tried it before. They say when you cut calories your insulin levels increase, and then you stuff yourself full of calories and combined with the heightened insulin levels from the fasting period, you create a highly anabolic environment that lasts for a couple of days. I may have messed up alittle on that but thats close. One problem I see with this is that the growth taking place during those fasting periods suffers, but then when you stuff yourself that growth is increased. So your body may grow unproportionally.
