Right or left handed? This is not unusual, my body is larger on the left side but I am the only one who notices. I think it is because I am right handed and my right hand is stronger. My left hand has to work harder than my right to keep up so i guess the muscle has just grown a bit better. No big deal and if you are already using dumbells there isn't a whole lot you can do.
I wouldn't use more on one side either. I guess you could just focus on your right ride by really squeezing at the top of the lift and feeling a stretch at the bottom.

Yeah...side strength and size differences are common. I am left-handed, but I play all sports right-handed (football, baseball, basketball, bowling, pool, tennis, golf) and play musical instruments right handed. All I do is write with my left hand. Even with all this going for my right side, my left arm is just bigger.....

no one is completely symmetrical, its physically impossible. You are a weird case, usually, your dominant hand/side is the bigger side. I am right handed and the muscles on the right side of my body tend to be bigger, I think now some of the muscles on my left are bigger due to over-correcting that problem.

Could also be because of bad form when lifting. If you are signifigantly different on one side, check your form when lifting and make sure you are doing it properly.

Well i a relief in a way to see i am not the only one with that problem.I am right handed, but my left pec is a little bigger than my right one.My left one used to be a lot more bigger, but since i have stop doing dumbell flys to focus more on flat bench press, the right one has catched up and the difference is only a little noticible.
I am sure it was because my form wasen't good with the dumbell flys.I tough it was ok, until i looked at myslef in a mirror while i was doing it.I would suggest doing them on a pec deck instead, you can't have a bad form with that. Also, i would strongly recommend doing barbell bench instead of dumbell.Yes dumbell are harder and you can stretch more, but barbell is easier to have perfect form IMO.I don't even put the pins on each end when bench pressing ,i keep looking at the bar and it goes up and down almost like if i was on a smith machine. |
