First off guys, I've been browsing this site (the best) and several others (very mixed bag) for the last 9 months trying to accumulate as much knowledge as possible. I've read all the stickys and I got to the point where I thought I knew enough to start my 1st cycle but now having started I'm starting to doubt...
This is my planned cycle... W 1 – 10: Test E 500mg W 12 – 16: PCT 250mg Mon in left Glute, 250mg Thurs in right Glute (500mg a week) PCT: Day 1 Clomid 200mg + Nolvadex 40mg Day 2 – 11 Clomid 50mg + Nolvadex 40mg per day Day 12 - 21 Nolvadex 20mg per day So a few questions... 1. I have nolva on hand for side effects during cycle but otherwise I'm not going to use this until PCT, correct? 2. PCT - reasonable for cycle or do I really need HCG? 3. Did my first injection, painless and much easier than expected but now 2 days on feels like my ass has been hit by a brick, is this normal? 4. Test e is labelled BD, looks genuine (but wtf do I know), rounded labels, clear printing, clear dates. Any further pointers on working out if it's likely to be genuine? 5. Should I stick with 2 x injections / week or just do it in 1 once a week? I know you guys must be sick of repeating yourselves but I've tried the search, read the stickies and I'm just going round in circles! ...and in case anyone's worried I'm 29 and been training for 8 years, eat 6 to 7 times per day plus shakes, so by my measure that makes me stupid enough to make my own decisions and possibly my own mistakes. dont know, but if it makes you feel any better my ass is killing me too. Its normal the first day after and time. Everyone tells me this anyway.

Everything sounds good bro. Cycle/PCT sound good, you're eating enough meals (hopefully enough cals, and of the right kind), and you seem like a smart guy, asking all the right questions. I'm on the third week of my first cycle right now too, and I'm with you on the injection site soreness. It takes about 2-3 days for the soreness to go away, so I get about one day of no soreness before my next injection. I've heard keeping the needle as still as possible helps. I personally insert the needle over a 3 second count (to avoid hitting a nerve), aspirate, inject over a ~10 second count, hold the needle still for about ~10 seconds, and then pull the needle out over a 3 second count. I might be holding it in too long, but I honestly don't mind the soreness and I haven't had any worried of hitting a vein or any test coming out post-injection which would have me a lot more pissed off than a sore glutes (which I get without injections). Best of luck, and keep asking questions if you got them. The worst thing you can do is remain uninformed, knowledge is everything.

Thanks guys, you've helped alleviate some fears there.
In answering some points raised. I wasn't exactly shaking when I injected and I used a 1 1/2 needle but I used a 25 gauge rather than a 22 or 23 which I think made the actual injecting and aspirating very tough so the needle moved quite a lot once it was all the way in because of the force I was having to apply on the plunger. 3 days on and soreness is still pretty bad but I guess we'll see. I'll see what I can do about posting pic’s and get your opinions on the fake / genuine thing. It always amazes me how many of you are willing to help folk on such a regular basis so thanks it's appreciated. Cheers Tone |

I'll just add..
yeep for the most part is all looks solid. As far as HCG goes... no you don't need it, but it won't hurt.. and if taken over the 10 weeks, it will prevent your balls from atrophying. The was I see it is.. if you can easily afford then use it.. it's the difference between starbucks coffee, and you local diner's coffee.. you don't need the starbucks, but damn if it ain't tastier. Additionally, I'm not sure who your getting your **** from, but HCG tends to be dirt cheap, and all the more reason to include it. Pain.. alot of people don't get this... and still I'm not sure I do.. (but I have a good idea).. Test is just one of the hormones that tends to land higher on the painful chart then others... Deca and eq for instance are largely painless. Ways to reduce pain. 1. Heat your gear up before injecting... Currently I keep my stuff downstairs, and it's cold down there.... I end up drawing with a 20g needle, and switch off to a injection needle.. either a 25gx1 for just about everywhere.. and 22gx1.5 for my arse... But it's damn hard to push thick cold gear through a 25g needle, so I started heating up the needle simply by blowing a hairdryer on it while I rotate it a bit.... voila, it injects much faster and smoother.. I shake less cause I'm not pushing as hard.. and guess what it hurts less later simply cause your not tearing up the muscle at the end of the needle.. (Oil also spreads out more quickly immediately after injection.. dispursing the hormone more evenly over the muscle). 2. Massage the injection firmly, immediately after injection.. this will spread the fluids around your muscle more.. spreading out the hormone.. that will later irritate the muscles.. This way you have a smaller amount of hormone spread over a larger area = less irritation = less swelling = less discomfort. 3. I know we don't want to be pill poppers. but if your having a real issue with pain.. take 600mg of ibuprofin 2-3 times a day. It will put a nix on the swelling which will pretty much kill any intense pains, and will allow you close to full motion, and a good workout. 4. always be prepared to hit 4 locations, and not just 2.. incase problems arise like pain or swelling.... I recommend delts, for me they take a shot better then any location, including glutes. lately I'm taking 1.25 ml of 300mg/ml concentration twice a week.. with very livable pain.. (and 250mg strength is painless). Other then that, typically I've tried 300mg test and I've tried 250mg test... and oddly enough it's hard to say what the culprit of the pain always is. A sust blend at 300mg, so far seems to be rather pleasent and it has prop in it... while some test blend I'm currently using has a bit of a byte to it, but I'm able to just rotate delts without any difficulties so far, but my last shot hurt quite a bit, (but i think I hit it far to off center, in an attempt to hit a fresher location.. lol). Just make sure you make the proper needle choice. Why is pharma grade test so much more painless?... I'll tell ya, it's not because it's cleaner.. it's because they use next to zero Alchohol, and a very thin oil. Very thin oil, pretty much illiminates the need for idea number 1 and 2, and makes 3 work much easier... I firmly believe that's the only difference where the pain is concerned. Peace. p.s. The idea that injecting slowly helps... is only true if it means you shake less... if the oil is warm and flows fast, you can inject it as fast as you want... it really doesn't make any difference.. Just be smooth, and the less the needle moves, the less trauma you will cause... but it is a good idea to leave the needle in for a few seconds to allow the oil to disapate a bit.. but if I were you, I'd pull the needle out quick, instead of slow.. cause I notice if you go slow, all you'll do is allow oil to follow the needle back up to the surface, and your more likely to eject. a few drops or more. (There is also what is called a (HOpe I remember this right) Z method which will help prevent leakage and bleeding.. buy pulling the skin one way or the other, causing breaks in the epidermus, to be misaligned when the skin is released after injection.)

Seriously though, pain in the delts is very minimal for me, only time you feel them of course is when you raise your arm, and during normal desk job work, that almost never happens.. and even then the pain you get is more tightness then pain, and can be worked through in the gym easily. As for 2 sites or 4 sites.. It all depends on how fast your injection sites heal up, and that often depends on the gear.. BUT, once in a while if you really botch up an injection site, and hit a vein, you can end up aggrevating the area a little, and in such cases it's nice to have options.. while it heals up a bit better. p.s. thanks NPayette
