It says that Taylor Hootin took his own life. So steroids did not kill him. It sounds like they are just looking for a scape goat to blame for the kid's suicide.

Well I am all for young guys not using roids but I really doubt they will listen to this website just look at caferacer he isn't gonna see this website and say ok now I will quit.

Its a sad story but its just meant to get ppl all bent out of shape about steroids. Teenagers are a very unstable sort and this couldve easily happened without the steroids. Just a scapegoat for bad parenting. the kid had the **** in his room for gods sake. Some parents are so freaking blind its scary.

KT, you have done your part to get the word out. Alas, as much as we would like to protect kids, especially our own, the "word" has been out for years. Those that use steroids, for what ever reason, all believe that they are safe. The problem is that kids just won't take the time to learn about steroids and how to use them properly. They just "want what they want" and worry about nothing. As a parent, the only thing I can do for my kids is to teach them to ask questions and research things they find interesting. Teach them to check things out before they embark on an endevour. We see Hawkwind and Gypsy planning hikes. They make a plan and do the research.

I do not judge those on this board that chose the steroid option. But I do fear the immaturity of kids using them. Knowledge is the key to everything.

I am not educated on steroids so I may be dumb. But I do read the comments on this board and others. I believe those that do the research and choose to use 'roids believe they have the ability to use them wisely. Having been a teenager too, I understand their recklass behavior too!

I did not take it personally. Just making sure I don't venture into waters that I should not be in. Steroids is one area of BB'ing I don't educate myself on.

Had a bro in back in H.S. that geared that hung himself w/ a chain. Parents blamed steroids, but not the cocaine and alcohol they found in his system.

Not saying theyre not dangerous for teens cause they are. Just saying to blame a suicide on them is irresponsible. The kid had problems, self esteem problems if you read the article, long before he took the juice. Where were his parents?? Probably too busy working to know whats going on in thier sons life. Thousands of teenagers commit suicide every year without the help of steroids. A couple commit suicide that were taking steroids and theyre to blame? Give me a ****ing break. Typical american mentality as no one is responsible anymore. Just blame it on somone or something else.

This subject has been around for a long time. All I hear are excuses and blame from many parents. On the other hand, government is responsible as well. I come from an european country and when I was a kid I was spanked around everytime I was doing bad things and to tell you the truth it helped me realize that it was time to stop. Nowdays, you go to jail as a parent if you smack your kid.......such BS!

Kids do not have to listen to anybody and that's the sad truth. I agree also that teens and steroids are a bad combination since depression is prevelant at that age anyway.

It's BS. You shouldn't be using them if you aren't mentally strong enough to know what steroids will do and to push through it.

If he had injected into a vein or something, I would be more sympathetic. But that kid killed himself because he ****ed up taking something he knew nothing about and didn't know how to manage.

Sure, he might have killed himself, but it wasn't because of steroids. He just happened to be taking them, and didn't know how to control himself, and steroids are a scapegoat.

I would be sympathetic to his parents... and probably laugh in their face when they say "Steroids did this!"
