From what I can see, I understand that the numbers in brackets are the ranges of normal.

Yes. OOR probably means out of range.

Yeah me neither. I was looking for test levels too to see if my recovery was done or not.

I found this but its a bit of a slog and I was hoping that someone would be able to highlight in brief.

Usually you have to ask specifically for test levels. I dont think its part of a standard full panel.

The *OOR* must represent out of range. In which case, My WBC, white blood cells are too numerous, which explains why my doc wanted me to take a course of antibiotic, as a "high WBC count may mean the body is fighting an infection".

And I have been having some chest pains lately, so I visted the Doc, and at first he thought the cartilage surrounding my heart was enflamed.

This Infection is backed up from what Ive read by the fact that the NEUT is OOR and these Neut (Neutrophils) play a central role in inflammatory processes. Large numbers invade sites of infection and begin to envelop and destroy tissue debris and foreign bodies, e.g. bacteria. They are the first wave of cells invading sites of infection.

My EOS,or Eosinophils is also OOR, these are WBCs (White Blood Cells) usually involved in allergic-type reactions. An elevated eosinophil percentage can help in diagnosing certain types of allergic diseases. Strange? I hope its just the infection. And not a reaction to any meds I was taking?

The GFR, is considered the most accurate way to detect changes in kidney status. I have discovered.

What does the test result mean?
NOTE: A standard reference range is not available for this test. Because reference values are dependent on many factors, including patient age, gender, sample population, and test method, numeric test results have different meanings in different labs.

On the scale of Kidney Damage Stages I rate a mild decrease in GFR, 60-89, although at the bottom end of this.

I will run the antibiotics and get my bloods done again at the end of that. I would be interested on finding out like you sadi Mitch the HDL LDL profiles and some others.

Im fine but for the infection which I wouldnt have noticed if it wasnt for the light chest pain, but thanks. The Doc seems to think its nothing to worry about and I would tend to trust her.

Surferph34, funny you should ask this question as the job that I have is in a clinical laboratory and we do blood work. Most of the time you have to have the Dr. order a Lipid Panel to get the breakdown of LDL and HDL and triglycerides. You have obviously done your research on the other results. If you have any other questions, PM me and will do my best to find out the answers.

ive read the stickies on blood panel stuff although i don't remember it to well .

ive had some inflamed cartilage around my heart...not a good feeling. wasn't all that painful but it was distracting and obviously concerning. some ibufen helped, although sitting in the hospital for 2hr's at 1am in the morning wasn't my idea of fun...

hope u get better soon though surferph34.
