Hi,
I have never considered taking any form of steroids and I must say I am pretty ignorant when it comes to it but recently I injured my shoulder in the gym and have heard that it may be the only solution. Here are some of my stats: 27 years old, 6', 175lbs, lifting for about 6 years consistently. I've been going to the doctor for this for a few months, finally had an MRI and was told that I have minor bursitis and minor arthritis in my AC joint. I am taking Glucosamine and I've significantly mellowed out my work out routine. I've been told by several people, as well as a few articles that Ive read that taking a cycle of Deca may be the quickest way to get back to normal? Please advise me on if this is true and if it is what I should expect? Thank You!! |

Not really get you back to normal, but it will mask the pain to a certain degree. IMO not worth taking DECA for that reason, just take a layoff. If you do decide to do it, make sure you run it w/ some test to avoid the ole DECA D!CK syndrome......

Thanks for the info! I've read somewhere that Deca can actually help heal your joints, or accelerate the healing process? The last thing I want to do is get on it, start lifting heavy again or potentially heavier than normal and injure my shoulder even more! As for the Deca Dick, that is definitley not something I would be looking forward to but Im willing to go "without" for a few weeks to get rid of this pain!!

I couldnt agree more than with what patrick said... at 6'0 and 175 you have a bit farther to go naturally before hitting the gear... and yea deca will just mask the pain, when you come off itll probably be strained worse IMO. I would get myself some glucosamine and a lot of rest. Injuries suck

You guys are most likely right! But Im 175lbs now, before my injury i was more like 185lbs to 190lbs, solid! I probably have the minimum body fat a human being needs to survive. My metabolism is still insane even at 27. I was benching around 300lbs consistently without a spotter! I did it all completly natural and my strength for being an amateur was pretty intense. But I do understand that most likely I just need to mellow out for a few months.

The biggest mistake I heve seen over the years is kids thinking they will shrink if they take 3, 4 or 5 weeks off so they can heal.......drives me crazy. |

Shiet, I took a whole year off to heal my shoulders, came back and pushed the weights way passed what I used to do.

Good post!!!Once you put in the time you bounce back quick. I just took 5 months off all upper work, now 2 months back I'm at 100% or better.....and better than that I feel healthy and great. |

i agree, i think starting on deca for this reason would be bad. as the guys said may well make the pain go for a bit but not long after you come if it will just come back and obviously you dont want to just keep taking deca on and off forever.i myslef have not been able to train my lats properly now for 2 month but as bad as it feels to take time you have just got to bite your lip and do it to be better in the long term.
