Actually I think steroids cause few problems themselves, they exacerbate existing problems.
If you are prone to heart disease, prostrate problems, kidney failure, liver disease, cancer, etc don't do steroids.

Steroids can really mess your cholesterol/ lipids up and can elevate blood pressure causing a greater predisposition for heart diseases and heart attacks. There are some that can even thicken the blood further complicating things. That is why proper precautions and supplements must be taken. Cycle length must be observed and the proper PCT run. Education is the key to a healthy cycle.

That's why unless you want to compete do not dose up around 1000mg/week of one steroid. It's not worth it. Steroids taken in moderation are safe but it does put your body in overdrive so make sure all is good with you before hand. Imo, anybody should be very careful how much weight they want to gain as well. Different people can handle so much body weight and if a small frame person tries to be 300lbs is not going to be easy on their system.
I feel that being about 40lb over the established weight on any charts is more than enough to be safe and still function normally. For example, I can be 280 easy at 6 ft. but I feel good at 230-245lbs. So, I can run all I want with no prob keeping my heart and cardiovascular system in good shape. Everybody is different I know but some common sense goes a long way.
