Default What is the best

What would be the best enhancement to help with running track? 400's and 800's. Something willl increase speed, endurance, and strength.

In another thread this was brought up about creatine.

By football35 - Creatine itself will do NOTHING for long distance runners. If you are a sprinter (100 and maybe 200), it could be advantageous but probably nothing else. Take that back, long jump could be good with it along with any other kind of jumping. Creatine improves explosive and quick movements. It reduces fatigue and increases endurance, but not in the situations of long distance running. Creatine will most likely add a few pounds to your body as well. Not very ideal for a long distance runner. It would be great for just about every field event as well....400 and 800, I would think not.

I said - With consistently running 5 to 6 days a week having good workouts won't this extra weight be lost then. CEE doesn't retain water like Mono does either. So is this extra weight fat being added on, I didn't think CEE added fat. If I am lifting too this would help in putting on muscle which would help in making my legs stronger an able to help eliminate them getting tired while running those 800's. Like afnerd said above this will help train harder to make me better. All of what I am saying could be completely wrong, but this is just what I have concluded. Is there anything else you would recommend taking to help? Or do you recommend to not take anything at all?

Does he bring up any valid arguements, or will creatine help with 800's and 400's just like others have told me? I have CEE.

Creatine is only effective on fast twitch muscles, for explosive power. Slow twitch muscles are needed for long distance running. If you are doing short distances, creatine will be fine.

Mono Creatine worked well for me in the 400m. Couldn't hurt in the 800m. Never tried CEE.

There is a product called OxyDrene. People who have taken it said it works well. Seems this could work the best for track.

NaturalProfessor has a spectacular aura about
Default best for sprints

Weighted walking lunges--seriously! using 20-45 pound dumb bells or olympic bar w/ 25-45 pound plates--walking the length of a football field up and back once at the begining of leg training or prior to running practice. Never perform this exercise more than once every 5-7 days. Make sure you eat two hours before the exercise and within 30-45 minutes afterwards...30-45 grams of protein and 70-100 grams of slow carbs-(vegetables) and 15-25 grms of healthy fats. Expect leg growth and increased speed and staminia...best of luck!
