Hello,
Not sure this is absolutely the right place to ask, but I hope you guys can help. I'm 18, overweight and try to gain lean mass I suppose, while dropping some weight. I am working out and dieting, but feel weak for my size and I would like to make the most of the workouts I'm doing and possibly gain some stamina/endurance. I've been considering HGH Spray, specifically Somatosome HGH Spray. I'm not sure if it's a complete scam or if I'll see results. The product breakdown is this, with each spray containing 380 nanograms of HGH. Is that a decent amount or should I look for more? Code:
Nutritional Facts Serving Size: 6 Sprays Servings per Container: 30 Amount Per Serving % Daily Value* HGH (Polypeptide Growth Factor Potentiator) 2,000 nanograms ** Excell Activator (GHrH) Consisting of Micro Molecualr Polypeptide Complex 1,000 nanograms ** * Based on a 2,000 calorie diet ** Daily Values not established I haven't researched the injectable types of steroids because I'm afraid I don't have the balls to inject myself, as well as the knowledge or anyone locally to mentor me in anyway. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. |

To my knowledge, hgh in a spray is a scam...
HGH is highly fragile, for one.. Absorbtion through the skin if it works, would require chemicals that more then likely help to break down the hgh... rendering it useless. If it did actually absorb with out getting breaking down competely at best it would have perhaps a 30% absorbtion rate. HGH, is extremely expensive.. and I don't know of any 18 year olds that could afford it. --- As for PH's your 18... so absolutely not a good idea. --- Infact you 18, did you know in 6 months it's possible to loose 50 pounds of fat, and probably put on some muscle.. with nothing but good nutrition and a basic weight lifting and cardio program... I know.. I lost 100 pounds in 8 months, and built alot of muscle... This was natural by the way. So I urge you to believe in yourself.. and believe that you can do it.. cause that in all honestly is half the battle.. the rest is just doing it day by day. peace.

Alright, this seems fair enough. I had expected to pay $100 a month for HGH. That's still low though, isn't it?
How about any sort of supplement (natural) for energy? That was one draw of HGH for me was the suppposed increase in stamina and energy. I could certainly use a slight energy boost. Thanks a lot for the advice guys. |

Getting a good multi in your diet will increase your energy. SOmething with alot of B vitamins. Also, you could use caffeine or something. I take one caffeine pill 4 days a week, before my training sessions. I dont drink sweet tea or soft drinks anymore, so I am still consuming less caffeine than most people. Well, those are some options. But getting a good diet and good multi will increase your energy alot!
EDIT: you also might want to try adding green tea (the actual tea or an extract) into your diet, and ginseng as well, i have had positive results with both of those. Last edited by wnxmaximus; 01-30-2006 at 08:43 AM. |

I'm not sure what they are putting in that stuff lately.. but basically it's a glorified caffiene pill. Could have some other ingredients that may have a ephedrine like effect, but I'm not going to do the research to find out.
It will work as a pre-workout stimulant.. but be prepared for the effects to taper off quickly, like almost all stimulants. The real key to energy, is proper nutrition before and after your workout. Werd. and lets not forget the important of sleep.

/\Bump! Just get some good, complex carbs prior to working out...it always does the trick for me. Sometimes you just have to psych yourself up a little too. Grunt a few times and pound on your chest and remember how big you are planning on getting!! That'll pump you up and give you a little kick!!

Caffeine is no good if you ask me...it ruins my pumps (it is a vasoconstrictor). I also have alot more energy since I quit all caffeine. Caffeine also inhibits Creatine and Calcium absorption.

Brown rice is good before working out (I eat it often) just don't eat too much as you will feel bloated while trying to lift. Also, remember to get some protein in there too.....

Yeep.. I'm not a fan of pre-workout stims either.. when I'm right health wise.. energy isn't a problem... Just eat 60-120 (depending on you of course) about 1-1.5 hours before your workout.
I also advocate a during workout drink... Loaded with BCAA's, some protein and carbs from gatoraid.. but this is a whole other discussion.

I've loaded before.. but i find it largely unnessecary. I've also used CEE, and found that to take effect within a week.. as opposed to Creatine mono which seems to take 1-2 weeks to kick in. Last time I cycled it.. I took 5 grams cee pre-workout, and 5 grams mono post workout. You'll have better up take of creatine with your post workout shake though, I'd almost be inclined to suggest that you'd get more bang for you buck taking 10 grams post workout then you would 5 and 5.... But I'm sure both will work. I'm a firm believer in creatine, and easily notice it's effects.. I'm good for a few more reps and a few more pounds for sure.
