Sport is on a distinguished road

Dave you raise a good point. Anthony's claims may be inflated.

However, it was not the food quantity/quality, but the routine of working out that helped me the most. In my hay day I worked out 6 days a week 1.5 hours a day and gained NO mass!!! (I did this for about 2 years).
Whether Anthony's muscle growth is accurate or not, based on food consumption, is irrelevant. His big argument is on Hard Gainer's inability to gain mass based on the amount of excercise. We hard gainers typically believe 'more excercise = more muscle'; however, Anthony goes into detail about how that is more than likely not the case. For the H.G. working out less is better. That is, a structured routine of 3 days a week usually no more than an hour each session. His method may be lossly connected to the old Bulgarian model of excercise. That is, 2 warm up reps, 1 set of 6-8 reps (near failure), 1 set of 4-6 reps (near failure), 1 set of 2-4 reps (near failure), 1 set of 1-2 reps (to failure), one set of 8-12 (lighter weight (to failure)), and then a superset of another excercise that works the muscle slightly differently.
This method has greatly assisted muscle growth in me.

In regards to food consumption, Anthony provided a pretty good guide, but I do not follow it very well. However, I do supplement protein, Creatine, L-Glutamine and essential vitamins as Anthony suggests. Nevertheless, my diet is closer to the SouthBeach/Atkins model where I limit my Carbs lower than Anthony suggests and raise my fat and Protein considerably.

All this has equated to about 13lbs of MUSCLE growth in about 13 weeks. (WOW)! AND my b.f. has gone down 9% in that same time period. All this with no aerobics...yet.

So then, am I trying to promote Anthony's system...maybe a little; however, what I am attempting to do is at the least give some validity to his madness.

Take it or leave it. I chose to take it, mold it to my specific needs and abilities and it has worked swell for me.

Thanks Dave for this constructive discussion.
